(29,223 posts)(a)Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
i saw Trump give a copy to Pence and to Pelosi... so these are copies... and nothing in this law prevents a public officer from destroying a copy.
I would love to depose the VP under oath as part of discovery. The testimony does not have to be restricted to just the State of the Onion.

(3,184 posts)How much of the speech was actually wrong, and exactly how it was wrong. I think hes done us a huge service. Ripping up lies is the appropriate response.
The worst interpretation is that Ms Pelosi was joining the attempted cover up of tRumps crimes.

It'll be interesting to see how much shit he's willing to let rest on his nose in the coming months.

"But as it turns out, Trump rips up official papers all the time. As the New York Times reported Tuesday:
President Trump has long made it a practice to tear up his papers and throw them away. It is a clear violation of the Presidential Records Act, which is supposed to prevent another Watergate-style cover-up. When the National Archives sent staff members to tape these records together, the White House fired them.
As usual, the rules dont seem to apply to Trump, who has famously boasted that the Constitution gives him, as president, the right to do whatever he wantsa lie the Senate will uphold if it votes to acquit him this afternoon."

(3,404 posts)After voting against trump on the War Powers act, and being disinvited to be a republican manager to a Trumps impeachment defense, Gaetz files this complaint and today was invited and publicly thanked by Trump during his impeachment end zone dance.
