The saddest part of the situation with regard to the American Political System

is that ReTHUGs are now using tactics at home that were created to overthrow legitimate governments overseas and destroy political parties that were and are not prepared to submit to American and Western Interests.

What makes this worse is that large sections of the US power brokers still believe this is perfectly OK. And that includes Democratic Party folks. Were that not so, the opposition leader in Venezuela would not be seated in the US Congress and declared President (not for the first time) and Democrats would not have been cheering.

The Con and his goons are doing to the Democratic Party and all opposing them the same as they are doing to governments and political parties overseas that do not share their ideological agenda.

And don't tell me that Maduro stole the elections because so did Don the Con and his goons.

What went on at the Congress on Tuesday night and the WH yesterday would make Hitler and Mussolini jump out of their graves with glee. I'm just glad that the Speaker tore up the Manifesto of LIES (Mistruths) but disappointed that she and other Dems cheered on that tool from Venezuela.

It takes mental gymnastics to do unto others that which you do not want for yourself. You either believe in democracy for all or you don't.

Among the youngest 40% of those eligible to vote Dems are favored over Repubs two to one. That is a massive margin. Unprecedented margin. As they age more will vote. Tucker Carlson and George Will both agree that soon the Republican Party will cease to be a national political party. Hillary won by two percentage points but the electoral college picked Trump. When the Dems start winning by 10% nothing will save the republicans.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS IN ITS DEATH SPIRAL!

Flash forward to 2020, and this country is a sneeze away from being an autocratic chrisofascist stste run by the Republic party.

Japan built 40 foot walls to defeat tsunamis. They worked. Republicans did not die in 2005. But then there was an earthquake if 9 on the Richter scale. The forty foot walls were breached. A two to one margin among the youngest 40% is a nine on the Richter scale.

Bush II flat out lied, and his admin operated a disinformation campaign, into Iraq, and it was a modern version of Vietnam.

And, NP rode into leadership in congress saying impeachment was off the table and the Ds spent nominal time doing congressional oversight to it, with Rs babbling about "The country can't stand another scandal" their default when they get a TO for their fuckwittery AND the feckless ass "liberal media" parroting this with them.

Meanwhile, Rs have congress and spend years using it as a political sledgehammer to Hillary, with endless bullshit investigations of Benghazi and e-mails, and now with Barr have coopted government to shut down legit investigations into 45 and continuing its creep well across the line of using it to investigate 45s "enemies."

IF we can wrestle control from 45 and Rs in November, will they have the stomach to do what needs to be done to START to turn out slide in an authortarian, fascists state? Or will, as usual, after republics did nothing other than use government to destroy democrats and democracy do they cave once again to "The country just can't stand holding 45 and company accountable?"

I realize that through the decades young people are not known for coming out in large numbers to vote, but this is one time in history we have to do everything in our power to get that age group out to vote. The two things I see that may get them off their butts is the student loan fiasco and climate change. These young people are really concerned about climate change and conservation and the environment.

Young people are also notoriously much more likely to vote Democratic and if they vote and get involved as a young person, more likely to continue voting and voting Democratic throughout their lives.

I would love to see Jill Biden be Secretary of Education and have her come out with a policy whereby upon graduation from college, students can have their loans forgiven if they pledge to give at least two years of their lives toward public service of some sort.

I see that Maduro pushed back by moving jailed oil execs from house arrest to jail. I'm guessing here because the article posted here doesn't give the motive that I am surmising.

The same thing happened to Chavez. All of the news coming out of the US was that Chavez needed to be overthrown. I don't remember the year that I worked in Venezuela but to my surprise working class people loved him.

The complicity of the MSM cannot be overstated, it gave rise to Trump.

broadcast on all the major TV channels yesterday? Does tRump get as much free publicity as he got at the last campaign? This is a problem. Who watches a drug addled senior adderall addict ramble on mindlessly for over an hour? He needs a mental evaluation, and the gop knows it. They are promoting an unqualified goon into office - AGAIN. Too many people are covering up the truth about this man/child.

that claim the MSM does it for ratings. Yeah of course they need income but they covered Trump 24/7 not primarily for ratings, they covered Trump 24/7 to get him elected.

All 3 cable news networks push the right wing narrative. I only watch Nicolle, Chris Hayes, and Rachel.

US oil executives moved from house arrest to prison after Guaido meets with Trump

3:42 AM - Six oil executives held in Venezuela for more than two years were suddenly moved from house arrest into prison on Wednesday night, just hours after Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido met with US President Donald Trump. The "CITGO 6" ... (CNN)

As long as the dictator/military push the US corporate agenda, all is well.

It is time to wake up. Democracy does not mean US national interests.

Whatever tRump likes, we need to support the right things, regardless of who or what he supports.

Democracy DOES mean US national interests. Such interests to be democratically decided.

Further, US national interests, when reasonably enlightened, do not stop at the US border, and may involve expenditures. It does not mean "America First Always", like tRump-GOP think. Nor does it mean ignore US corporate agenda.

Newspaper called Trump's speech after impeachment disgraceful, it seems that he is imploding with hatred and that after Barr
stopped any check on Trump ( there were several on-going investigations) he has now demanded Hunter Bidens financial records and received them.
I am beginning to really fear for our future.
