I have no trouble believing that the ambassador did the right thing in testifying... but he had to know that it would cost him his job. Ambassadors represent the president to other countries. Obviously any president would replace anyone who wasn’t in line with him.

“Looks bad” is good enough

By your logic, why would that be wrong?

A “hit” is wrong in any case.

Replacing a subordinate who isn’t in line with your objectives isn’t wrong in itself.

I would expect a good president OR a bad one to have Ambassadors (or NSC staff) who are in line with their positions. Only a bad one would order a hit. Thus a hit tells you that he’s bad... doing what any president would do doesn’t

Still trying to calculate how many Republican senators are flaming fascist assholes, versus terrified children who are scared of “Daddy’s” rampages and his troupe of sociopathic brownshirts who phone in the death threats.

Either way, this shit show HAS TO GO. Otherwise, it continues unabated until January 2025. America as we know it will not survive; it’s already on life support.

Joel Higgins as a reluctant marshal facing down Christopher Lloyd as the Calico Kid.

If been quoting that line (and using my own variants) for almost forty years.
