https://www.rawstory.com/2020/02/banana-republic-judge-slammed-doj-for-stringing-along-mccabe-investigation-to-help-trump-politically/According to revelations from a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), Justice Department attorneys were met with mounting frustration and skepticism from a federal judge regarding documents related to the investigation of former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, The Daily Beast reports.
According to federal judge Reggie Barnett Walton, President Trumps involvement in the McCabe investigation was disturbing, a mess, and reflected a banana republic.
I think its very unfortunate, Judge Walton told prosecutors as the case stalled in late September. And I think as a government and as a society were going to pay a price at some point for this.
According to CREW spokesperson Jordan Libowitz, the delayed released of the documents show that the government was trying to cover up the fact that they were stringing this [lawsuit] along while looking for a reason to indict McCabe.
This is prosecutorial misconduct. These guys should be fired and be disbarred.

(854 posts)Dump skated for so many years running his little pissant real estate company in NYC. And in NYC, his company was probably miniscule compared to the real wheelers and dealers in business in general and real estate in particular. Then he got a 'reality' TV show giving him a national platform (what effing genius thought that would go well). Now he's trying to play with the big boys nationally and trying to run a country like he ran his business, with him as the unquestioned, all-knowing leader. And, well, we all see what's happening in plain sight.
One can only con and lie your way to "success" for so long before the con and lies catch up to you. His bankers learned that lessen years ago. No one would lend him money. Now we, as a nation, are having to learn that lesson again, unfortunately with a lot of pain (and with a lot of very stupid people still hanging on his every word). He is so obviously corrupted to the core. And his BS is certainly catching up to him and he's unraveling before our very eyes. His implosion can't happen soon enough. Even Mitch and Barr ultimately won't be able to protect him from himself - the useless slug just can't help himself. He may appear to be 'winning' in the short term but - take heart, let him keep tweeting, braying and pushing those boundries like the numbnuts he is. He's hanging himself.....

(12,591 posts)He was terminated at Fat Donnie's command the day before he was to retire, without any of the procedures required to do such an action. Denying him his well-earned retirement is petty beyond belief, but standard for this less-than-human president* we have now.
*According to former President Jimmy Carter, Trump is an "illegitimate president."

(11,744 posts)Problem is that with Barr as the head of DOJ, nothing will happen. He is crooked and is behind these sham investigations at the behest of Trump.
They should ALL be fired, disbarred, and jailed.

It's guilty until proven innocent for that bunch.

(11,348 posts)for game playing and just stringing things along ..? Most likely not. And it is the DOJ after all. This kind of rebuke is probably the most you're going to get within the circumstances.
