Stencils are nice but not needed if you can use a ruler, square and make straight lines. Everything else you can draw out in pencil and paint in.
You can make an absolutely gorgeous sign!!!

(11,076 posts)Same thing last go round. If you want one the best shot is the Obama store. They don't believe that yard signs work. I disagree and that is why instead of giving money directly, I buy buttons and signs and use them as I see fit!

(12,448 posts)do except make sure that any liberalish Arizonans that might want to be involved in Democratic Arizonan politics are kept well and far away from the possibility. It's the same in most red states and something that Dr. Dean's 50 state strategy was cutting into during his tenure as DNC chairman.

(43,049 posts)the local Obama campaign doesn't have that much but OFA, which can't directly work with the campaign, has more, and has the signs.
I got a couple, but can't use them and am looking for a few good yards around here.
Romney signs are around, but not as many as I thought there would be.

(43,049 posts)that's part of Obama's re-election campaign-- lotsa house parties and fundraising. They're sorta control freaks and not always that easy to find (I get emails from them, but they direct me to barackobama.com). Your local Democratic club or party office should have a contact with them and they usually have campaign stuff if they open a local office.

(1,242 posts)We need to keep pressuring the party to part with money, even if it is a little bit, into grass roots efforts into red states, or at least those with emerging Democratic demographics. They waited too long to put Dem money into Wisconsin, and they should know by now that even just a little money for bumper stickers, a few signs, etc. could help ignite where there is any likelihood of movement. Also, my wife told me this morning that Intel was disappointed in being so heavily invested with their infrastructure here in AZ, as they never thought that AZ would get so crazy. Doesn't anyone remember Evan Mecham or that we were the last state in the Union to accept Medicaid funding and adopt a MLK holiday? There is a large and growing hispanic population here in AZ.
Beyond that, knowing where to get the cheapest printed materials would help those newly involved, etc.

(77,097 posts)the polls! I would like to think they could support Mr. President with a damn yard sign. What do we need to do, have and FB paint party?
ArizonaLib
(1,242 posts)You are correct in being so passionate about yard signs. I think we talk too much about 'just go out and vote'. While yard signs promote voting decisions, when they appear in large numbers, they also demoralize opponent turn out. They figure 'what's my vote going to do?' We should characterize 'support' as not just voting, but promoting.
