After Trumpwho just tapped Pence to lead the effortturns his back, Sec. Azar seizes the room's attention to insist that HE remains the "chairman" but is glad to have the Veep "helping," while Pence stands motionless with a vacant middle-distance stare. So that happened. (yikes)Link to tweet
My dad (a doctor) had signs in every bathroom in our house that said, Handwashing prevents infection! with a teddy bear and a heart. I wouldnt mind seeing those signs everywhere now. More effective than Pence.

Before entering politics, Pence was a failed radio talk show host. He has zero healthcare experience, and is, quite frankly, a useless fucking moron. If Trump, who is also a fucking moron, is depending on Pence to contain the #CoronavirusOutbreak, then we are all going to die.

Pence is not a public health expert, either. Instead, as governor of Indiana, he slashed public health spending and delayed the introduction of needle exchanges, which led to the states worst outbreak of HIV. He takes over from Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar who has been heading the White House coronavirus task force since the beginning of January.
Yale epidemiologist Gregg Gonsalves, who conducted the research linking the Indiana HIV outbreak to Pences policies, tweeted that the decision speaks to a lack of seriousness by the White House.

Oh my fcking god. Hes putting @VP Mike Pence in charge of #coronavirususa. This is a man that totally botched HIV outbreak in Indiana. This is not a good idea and speaks to a lack of seriousness by the @WhiteHouse.

Pence also has a history of downplaying the link between smoking and lung cancer, writing in a 2000 op-ed that despite the hysteria from the political class and the media, smoking doesnt kill.

He appointed Pence to navigate the political and legal intricacies of using Coronavirus as the pretext for Marshall Law in early November.

(47 posts)But once you think we have gone as low as we can, we go lower. Two weeks ago I posted the similar thought on my FB page asking any republicans if they thought the argument that if trump thinks its ok for America then its ok applies to ignoring the results of the election. One dude could never answer that simple question.

(48,955 posts)1) The Pence - stubborn (didn't act and didn't act) in the face of an extreme crisis was horrible. I don't know how sincere his beliefs were against the idea of providing sterile needles were as "it encourages the negative behavior" - vs. how much it was to pander to what he considered his national audience/base from the reactionary rightwing religious voters (known at the time as the Talibornigan). Doesn't matter which was his motivation - one of those motivations was more important to him as Governor - than was facing down and trying to save lives of citizens of his state. That state, is my state. He was compromised either by extreme religious beliefs, or by pandering to those who hold those beliefs (and his ambition to run for president.)
He is the most unserious person - per trying to prevent a mass emergency/health crisis - that Trump could put in charge. The response will not be about public health/security for people in he US. It will be about sycophancy to Trump.
2) *warning a snarky shallow comment on Trump's looks in this video.* He usually wears red or blue ties - sometimes with diagonal stripes and small variations - but today = pink? It distracted me - hmmm why does this draw my eye's attention to his tie? Then I noted that his lips seem to match. And are shiny. Is he wearing a coordinated color scheme of tie and lipgloss? Yikes - why did I ask myself that? Because once I did (look again at it) I couldn't unsee it.

Mullah Pence is so bad he still failed.

If the outbreak is bad, PENCE failed, not Donnie Boy, oh gosh no!
Then he picks himself a new VP for November.
