My husband & I have been raising kids for 27 years. Our eldest came to us when he was almost 3. His mom OD’d & his dad went to jail. There was no one to take care of this little boy, so we did. When you discriminate against LGBTQ couples, you deprive kids like mine of good homes.

I did not know that he is gay. And, you know what? It doesn't matter. Because he is an exceptionally good person! His three children are so fortunate to have a loving family.

12. I've been watching him for a while and an on his email list

so I knew he was a gay father, And I was one of the first to hear when he got in trouble for buying tampons for his female staff with his Congressional staff allowance. He had no idea that was prohibited ... because it shouldn't be. He reumbursed Congress and now buys their tampons out of his pocket.

IIRC, at the time he was running for New York State Attorney, which he lost to Tish James, so is still in Congress. In one way I was sad he didn't get the promotion ... but I'm surely glad he is i Congress.

That's so awesome! I hadn't really ever heard of him before until I noticed his great performance during the impeachment proceedings, but he became one of my favorite representatives due to his ability to cut through the crap and his fiery delivery.
