I was looking at wagons and shelves to spot trends. I went right at opening.
Lots of TP and paper towels, though lots were in stock.
Clorox wipes were going fast.
Spam
Ramen noodles
Saw a few people with freezers
Boxed milk
Oddly, the Ragu stand was full.
Went to Target later. The liquid Tylenol, Motrin shelves were empty, but there was plenty of NyQuil. There was no bleach. No cheap hand soap. No hand sanitizers.

Gotta admit I didn't see that one coming. I guess people's priorities differ.

I saw people recently with loads of Diet Coke in their carts.

(14,750 posts)you are going to see pallets of out of date diet coke being sold in dollar stores.. lol.. Yes, it does have a shelf life - it turns clearish and tastes funny.

I always buy paper towels in bulk, so dont need any. Always buy bleach and wipes too. Nothing new about that.
My local Walmart seems to be well stocked.

(14,961 posts)there seems to be a false sense of security around that. I was at Sam's, Target and Wal Mart yesterday, I am slightly sick at the moment, the only shortages I have noticed are all medication related.

(14,750 posts)Any type of n95 face mask, including construction and industrial masks, are completely out of stock everywhere from the big box hw stores to the smaller local stores to amazon.
Ebay has everything, but at scalper prices. I wouldn't want to kick off a fiberglass restoration right now.
All hand sanitizer is out, though straight up isopropyl alcohol is still on shelves - go figure (it's the same active ingredient as in the hand gels, just liquid and not a gel)
Most surface cleaners are running out fast.
Plenty of food stocks though. Rice, flour, sugar, were still well stocked. TP seemed to be well stocked. Same for face tissues.
Didn't check meds.
I hear there is a run on ammo, but not my thing.

(10,168 posts)because of all the products, and ingredients of products, that we can no longer purchase from China.
Proctor and Gamble alone cannot make 17,000+ products without China at this point in time! We will see lots of things missing and it will be because they cannot be replenished.
We just did a Costco run or two ourselves before things begin to run out.

(16,187 posts)We bought TP and tissues. Ibuprofen. Went to the local co-op grocery and bought $85 worth of bulk goods and vegetables.

(15,090 posts)Not so much because of the danger of being quarantined, but because the stores will be swamped if a case pops up in my area.
