We had a month, all Feb., to prepare, to produce more test kits, etc.

But we threw that time away because Trump "thought" we could effectively wall ourselves off.

This is not what the experts told him.

This the real scandal and not simply radical incompetence because Trump ignored his experts for this own gain (stock market/election).

Scientist warns politician that something bad will happen. Politician ignores scientist. Bad thing does happen. Lots of people die. Scientist is believed too late. Politician also dies. Scientist finally is proven right.

Amazing. It is as if they want a national catastrophe to weaken the country more. Shocking!

Off the top of my head, it was estimated that we might need around 178,000i respirators nationwide if this pandemic becomes a major one. We only have around 75,000, so I guess it would be death panel time because they would have to be rationed out.

Why I brought that up is that I am wondering if any attention is being paid to that critical kind of preparation. We should have more available, regardless of how bad this one gets as a means of mitigating a medical disaster.
