Match made in hell - ignorant trump and his cult vs COVID-19.

It is unimaginable that at a time when science is needed most - when faced with a complex biological issue like COVID-19 - we are being "led" (so to speak) by a science-denying, insanely stupid fake president whose whole reason to be is to draw attention to himself...aided and abetted by his side-kick VP who is also antiscience and probably thinks a dose of religion and prayer will fix this right up. Add to this the entire right wing "we're only in it for the money...for MY money" and the drooling cult of ignoramuses..

Pandemics are horrendous even with proper leadership and competent science. What our current political pickle, what we are about to go through could be simply unfathomable.

It really is awful. Even the state leadership is failing us. They rely on the CDC for guidance. 58Sunliner Mar 2020 #5

We should do a count on how many Repukes die and then remind their friends and family's of the same ilk that their vote helped them get dead.

I just had a gut reaction today when I saw the surgeon general tell people not to wear masks, which in this administration means wear a mask. People are going to have to decide how at risk they are going to be. No one talks about how long this virus lives in feces, on soft materials, hard surfaces, in moisture, etc...I can only guess from SARS. An apt building in China had transference because of an impaired sewer pipe and droplet transmission. We don't know how long before being symptomatic you can be shedding the virus. It apparently can have a low enough viral load to be asymptomatic after illness and recovery. Like AIDS.
I saw DT when they were trying to explain the vaccine trial and production and he was just such a moronic sociopath. For those of us at risk due to age, illness, etc.., I would recommend some protocols. None of which will protect 100% but that is not feasible. The goal is to reduce your risks. And one way is to order things to be shipped. Just imagine all the factors that go into shopping. Touching product that may have air droplets settle on them, or be touched by someone sick. The carts, the payment systems, the help, etc...Those people will probably not be provided with masks. I am using a mask and construction goggles that wrap around your eyes. I carry a bottle of disinfectant that I spray the payment system with. I may buy finger cots to use, cheaper than gloves and easy to use. I use a spray for my door handles, and then use hand sanitizer for 20 secs after entering the car. I do a full hand-wash whenever possible. I spray my mailbox daily, my doors/handles daily. My face masks are going to be reused. Take them off with gloves, spray them, and put them in a plastic bag for 4 days. The virus should be dead in 2. I read that women/men in China in health care are cutting their hair/shaving their heads, and shaving any face hair. It is a risk for droplet transmission. I think I will start putting my hair under a cap too. Just not a shower cap.
A dryer will help kill viruses on clothes. 28 minutes on a high heat cycle. Don't use a public restroom. This virus sheds in feces. This is part of how I am limiting my exposure. I think people should limit their exposure earlier rather than wait, as we don't have wide spread testing, or reliable info. Disinfect your toilet daily too.
