Third 'presumptive positive' coronavirus case confirmed in Florida

https://www.fox35orlando.com/news/third-presumptive-positive-coronavirus-case-confirmed-in-florida
The Florida Department of Health announced on Tuesday that another person in Florida has tested 'presumptive positive' for the coronavirus. Two others have already been confirmed with the virus, otherwise known as COVID-19.

The new patient is the second in Hillsborough County where a woman is currently quarantined with the coronavirus.

...

Testing 'presumptive positive' means the patient has tested positive for COVID-19 through state laboratories. The Centers for Disease Control must then confirm the findings.

According to the Florida Department of Health website, there are now 16 pending testing results and 24 negative testing results. There are currently 247 people under public health monitoring.

By a week from now it will be dozens to hundreds at a time... per state.

Look at Italy or South Korea in the last week or so... the only reason we aren't reporting more now is that we lack the test kits and people that show up with a mild temperature (under something like 104F) and respiratory symptoms are being told to go home and self isolate - come back if it gets serious.

Disney has already closed Shanghai, Hong Kong and also Tokyo Disney

Hoping it doesn’t come to that here as that would snowball into Universal, Sea World, Fun Spot, I-Drive, etc and then we’re talking hundreds of thousands of people temporarily out of work

which is why I like Warren's plan (she covers the wages of people who are affected).

But the time to close the parks, schools, meetings, rallies, etc. is right now... roll out massive number of test kits and start testing anyone and everyone that might have come into contact with the virus... and even a lot who probably don't believe they have.

That would be our last shot at containment.

But we won't do that... so it's live with the pandemic.

Mostly locals.

WDW (and all other parks here in Orlando area) get visitors from all over the country and the world (large numbers of guests from UK, Brazil and Argentina)

And spring break season is about to start....

and a free democracy where draconian restrictions on travel (like China right now) really don't mix well.

Ndemic creations game "Plague, Inc." is fascinating how close it comes to the real thing.

And again, they don't know where he got it - he commuted into the City everyday so chances are that hundreds of people could be infected and thousands were exposed.
