I have been through the same run-around with the CDC. I had all the right symptoms and had been in Hong Kong at the right time (returned home Jan. 4) but could never get a test.

(101,385 posts)He arrived from Wuhan, China -- the hub of the global outbreak -- at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on January 15, before any health screenings for the virus began at US airports. The man sought medical care on January 19 after four days of self-quarantine at home, Washington officials said.

Much more likely than Hong Kong on Jan 4th - 1st case there was Jan 23rd: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_coronavirus_outbreak_in_Hong_Kong
Which is probably why they're not bothering testing Wozniak.

(9,952 posts)symptoms. We did not go to China, but we did have a company in our offices who had been there just three weeks prior. It is not on the time line. But the symptoms fit. Three of us got it.

(9,213 posts)but I had all the other symptoms. Daughter also had something very similar and tested negative for Flu.
That's the thing is the symptoms are just like that of Flu the only way you know the difference is the testing, so if we didn't have flu we must have had something very very similar.

(86,822 posts)symptoms profile... I swear it's what I had a year ago, seriously. My friend and I went to a remote but heavy tourist traffic location for a few hours. We went to three public locations late in the day, in the morning we were both sick. We live in different states and were both fine when we arrived. It was nasty and chest oriented with fever and seriously aching body.
A year ago last week.
If we have been without an appropriate medical health infrastructure or coordinated programs for such instances, how would we be able to know when this arrived?
