Sometimes I feel like saying, "Don't let my political posts stop you from posting yet another "I love Jesus" graphic and prayer. I was taught to pray in private, that making a overzealous display of your faith was disingenuous. I understand you think that your faith is important, but I think the direction our country is going in terms of politics is a little important too. If you think otherwise, I guess you can pray for me".

I think a couple friends are testing me, so I don't respond in any way. I'm waiting for them to ask why and I will say pretty much the same as you. Great response.

he's in my platoon. He posts, no joke, about 25 updates a day on why Obama sucks.

It gets overwhelming. As much as I love politics, I know I'm not going to change anyone's mind, so I keep my opinions to myself.

Until election night...then when Obama wins I'm gonna crow like there's no tomorrow.

And yes a few cartoons and digs at Romney, but those are relatively rare.

I feel like people may not have the time to read everything they might want to know about. If I can help... yay.

then they get the idea they need to take a picture and post it on facebook so we will see how delicious it tasted.

Actually, half eaten food looks gross. People will NOT see how delicious it was. All they will see is a dirty plate and feel grossed out.

The death of democracy is not likely to be an assassination from ambush. It will be a slow extinction from apathy, indifference, and undernourishment.
Robert M. Hutchins

The price of apathy towards public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.
Plato

I always believe that ultimately, if people are paying attention, then we get good government and good leadership. And when we get lazy, as a democracy and civically start taking shortcuts, then it results in bad government and politics.
Barack Obama

The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people.
Louis D. Brandeis

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.-Martin Niemoller a prominent Protestant pastor who opposed the Nazi regime. He spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps. Germany, 1937.

that fully half of your pants are political, and I wondered where you were getting your clothes.

Also wondering whether you had complete pairs of political pants or all of your pants were only political on the left side.

And they weren't always political!

To me, why bother to post something on fb if you aren't willing to have a discussion?
BUT, if you're going to post something AGAINST a point of view, keep it civil
and polite. I will hide snark or sarcasm...and ultimately unfriend someone who
repeatedly makes such posts.

so very little is political, unless it is a story I covered that was political.

I get very little grief.
