Amgen retail price for Enbrel is over $5000 per month. The average cost in the US is something like $3000 (with Amgen financial aid for those who qualify).

Too bad that probably wouldn't cover it. For some conditions, you would need to sell a dozen or more kids into servitude.

When will we get it that healthcare isn't a f-ing commodity? We all need a certain amount of preventative care. Some of us get sick. When we do, we need more. It’s not like buying a car or other commodity. I didn't wake up one morning and think “I’d like to start injecting myself with Enbrel, I know it’s expensive, but I deserve it!”
