It's a teaparty favorite, about the liberal's "war on Christmas" wrapped in a story about a family and a son who died in Iraq or something.
it's hard core evangelical, Pat Robertson, tea bagger shit. I googled it and it's another 2016. But SOMEONE has bought a lot of cell phone numbers and is sending out texts. I basically replied to fuck off and stop spamming me. My ex also got a text a few minutes later.
Someone is bankrolling these things, an 2016. With Romney appearing with Pat Robertson today, and suddenly screaming about GOD GOD GOD in his new speeches... I think we have a NEW tact!! GOD!!! GOD!!!! GOD!!!!! (apparently Romney's NEW attack is based on another lie that the President plans to take GOD off the US Coins, to which Romney SCREAMS that he will " NEVER TAKE GOD OUT OF THE PLATFORM!! OFF OF OUR COINS, And... wait for it.. OUT OF MY HEART!!!!! Then he spontaneously breaks into the Pledge of Allegiance. I think that guy needs to have some sort of intervention. He's out of control.

(4,225 posts)I don't think it named the specific propaganda film, but I spent enough time around evangelicals in college to know that "religious freedom" is code for "Christians-are-persecuted paranoid fantasies to justify the coming of the American Taliban."
Yeah, I support religious freedom, in the sense that your religion (or lack thereof) is none of my business, I am aware of the horrors of the Inquisition, and I don't want to repeat said horrors. Religious freedom, this country has it and 99.99% of sane people in this country take it for granted enough that you never hear about it except in reference to some other country, usually some tinpot dictatorship shithole; the only people who really spout off about it are paranoid, delusional fundies. The manner in which evangelicals/teabaggers have twisted the phrase is absolutely Orwellian.
So I only glanced at it a second before hitting END. Those two words told me all I needed to know. Probably the same batch of spam the OP received, because I never get texts. Ever. I tell people not to text me--I tell them to call me instead because I never use all my minutes. I don't want to pay to receive texts.

(2 posts)I always save spam messages so I can report them because the FCC wants specific information on their form. It's rare I get one because I'm on the do-not-call list. Typed exactly as I have it on my phone.

(2 posts)I would like to have freedom from others trying to shove their religious beliefs down my throat and the manufactured war on religion, God and christmas. In fact the only reason I know about this movie which is a piece of religious propaganda is because my very private cell phone is being spammed by busy-body "christians" illegally texting my phone.
Cell phone privacy is protected by the FCC under the CAN-SPAM act. The CAN-SPAM Act supplements the consumer protections provided by the TCPA. The CAN-SPAM law bans unwanted email messages sent to your mobile phone if they are commercial messages. I have NEVER had my phone spammed by any other movies. It's against the law!

(1,349 posts)But I just checked the movie times for the AMC theater in Dubuque, IA...they list this turd showing on Friday. So they already have the Douchesoozle turd that will still be playing. Now they're adding this. WTF? How does a limited release from shitty Rocky Mountain Movies (who's also behind the Douchesoozle movie) get to a 14-screen theater right away? 2 piece of shit rw movies showing at the same time at a 14-screen theater? The people who own my local theater must be baggers or something. It's too bad, b/c I generally like the theater. I'm not going to a movie until all these rw turds aren't showing. I'll have to go to the Sundance theater in Madison.

(49,212 posts)Whoever sends out the spam isn't very good at their job- I find religious and nationalistic marketing of any sort about as appealing as misspelled boner pill emails.

(32 posts)I didn't get any. How come they missed me???
Maybe their instinct told them I don't take unsolicited calls and spam texts lightly. I report them every time to http://www.callercenter.com and the FTC to expose their violation to everybody. I didn't get my number into the DNC list for nothing. And I hope the authorities do something about them. If these text messages are designed to promote religion, well it's certainly not working.

Now that I know it's some right-wing crap I will definitely avoid it.
