" you know Obamas gonna win, right??"
And they sigh and say " I know..."
Not much more they can really say at this point. They dont even try to defend him anymore. They know Romney is a very weak candidate.
They realize he will lose.

6. Closest to the truth in the case of my right wing friends.

One is and always has been a republican party hack and tries to put up a brave face like he likes and believe in Rmoney, and I would expect no less.

The other two became republicans around the time of the 2008 elections and their hate, bigotry, and ignorance is shocking and as you would expect putting a good amount of strain on our friendships. Hell, they used to bash the hell out of both Bushes for being anti-working class but they sure do side with conservative business press ( as long as it doesn't affect them ) since president Obama was elected. Real shitheels I tell ya. They seem resigned to another Obama victory though. My telling them that life goes on and that their lives were none the worse the last 4 years doesn't seems to help. Haters gotta hate.

4. I find that aside from the truly kooky true believers - many are concerned about all the craziness

Unfortunately what used to be the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party now dominates the Republican Party. Those who for some reason still feel attached to the Grand Old Party - but are not indoctrinated with their endless cuckoo talk - there is some opportunity to do some missionary work. There is a smaller and smaller percentage of Republicans who are not full of nutty cliches. But those who still maintain some elements of reason and sense - they might be persuadable to admit that today's Republican Party is not grandpa's Republican Party.

7. About 3 weeks ago, I told the right-wingers I couldn't waste any time

arguing about BS. If they wanted to have a conversation with me, I would only respond to arguments they have written personally, and only if their arguments were more or less in this form:

I am concerned about ________.
President Obama's policy is _______________.
I disagree with the President because ______________.
I believe a better solution would be ________________.

Of course, none of those teabaggers has come back with that. They are mostly illiterate -- incapable of the most basic reasoning. But that has freed a lot of time.

Now what I am doing is sending them a picture every day showing a large crowd at the latest Obama campaign event. That's it. Just the picture. This really demoralizes them. I am planning to keep that up every day until the election. This is my revenge for 4 years of hate-filled nonsense from these aholes.

Try it. You will find it very satisfying and it really will bring them down because the cannot admit that the president is really popular and they are the ones who are the fringe element.

If they insist, I get up and walk to another room. If they follow, I make my apologies to the more sensible people and head home. It's becoming a thing. I'm kinda known for it now.

I am so done with that shit.

They just threw out all of these impossibly-weird non-candidates as place-holders while they tread-water until 2016.

I have one person on Facebook who is Libertarian who pisses me off. There are a couple people on there who I have a feeling will vote for Romney. Personally I don't give a shit if they do because I'll rub it in their face the day after. I'm going to eat my cake and shit on them at the same time.

12. I try to not talk politics in person

With people I know who are Repug-leaning. Facebook is another story however.
There's 2 kinds of Repugs in my acquaintance:
1. "pro-lifers" brainwashed by their church. I will not attempt to talk politics with them.
2. One guy--a very close friend--says he's fiscally conservative and distrusts the government to do anything good. But he's appalled by the antics of the birthers and the racists that have taken over the party. Not a woman-hater either. He'd be an old-fashioned Rockefeller Republican if such a thing still existed, and I can respect that.
If he votes for Romney his wife's vote for Obama will cancel it out.

Just like I don't have any:

Neo-Nazi Friends
Klan Friends
TeaHadist Friends
Perky Friends
Al-Queda Friends

You really need to reevaluate who your friends are.

It's like talking to a fence post.
They believe what they want to believe and nothing will change their minds.
I should also mention that they aren't very bright.
But they're old friends, so we just don't talk politics.
