How many people here have experienced flu-like symptoms in the last week or two?

But did not go to a doctor?

I wonder if there may be many more of us than anyone knows?

We've had the flu before and we have always survived.

Could it be widespread in the population and no one knows the actual numbers?

but if everyone wants a doctor for "flu symptoms" (which include allergu, common cold, and 2nd hand smoke) no one could get an appointment.

besides. i'd rather die in my own home than in the hospital emergency room. .

making themselves believe they are experiencing symptoms because of worry, given all the discussion and focus.

When I really question them, they admit they really aren't experiencing a sore throat, cough, fever, muscle aches and pains, nasal congestion, chest pain or constriction, nasal discharge, or any other symptoms--not even those of a cold. They are just feeling uneasy and self-examining for anything that feels "funny" or different.

I surely understand, but at some point, I think we have to do all the steps necessary to protect ourselves and then work on the healthy behaviors over which we do have control, especially getting enough sleep. And, trying to put all else into context...

to all the walking worried.

all that is left is the occasionally cough (like once or twice a day).

But 7 weeks is a long time to shake a cold...

I thought I might have a scratchy throat. Took two ibuprofen and feel fine today. I’m going to a celebration of life tonight and will see many old friends from over the years. It will not be easy to keep from hugging, probably that won’t work, so I can easily imagine this thing spreading if we all go about with normal lives.

And this is worse than the flu.

I take it very seriously.

No symptoms, but I am close to becoming a hermit these days in self-defense.

No testing creates reasonable fear. Is US the least proactive western nation?

I bought a few pounds of dehydrated veggie soup mix & vitamins, bleach bath grocery items and am considering the “eat it if you can peal it” produce. 😭😭 Am hooked on baby bok choy, kale & brocolli but is it worth the risk before testin is done in my area?

Sweet potatoes Vit A

Does boiling kill Covid-19?

Started with a fever, several days of nausea, then developing cold symptoms and shortness of breath, now have bronchitis. If I were in Korea, I'd get in one of those drive by lanes to get tested, but since I'm here, I'm not even a candidate...

My doctor has placed me in isolation to safeguard me against possible corona exposure. I'm pulling my kid from public school and enrolling her in online school - I simply cannot afford to get exposed to any further pathogens. And I'm teaching my classes online for the foreseeable future.

Where it still resides. I still have a cough. I felt feverish/chills/sweaty for a few days but had no thermometer. On day three it was hard to breathe. Day 4 was worse. I thought of going to urgent care but ended up staying home. I kept away from hubby and so far he is fine. I did stay off work over a week and was down for 8 days. This was different then a cold and I had no intestinal involvement. Did I mention I live in WA?

I get the usual runny nose when I go out in the cold, and an occasional dust based sneeze or two (I'm a shitty housekeeper, sue me) but overall, in good shape. No fevers or anything more serious.

I do get my flu shot every year, though.

It was before any reported cases here, I think. She was sick for a week, but that's common for people her age, and hers was stomach related so we aren't worried for COVID-19.

I don't qualify to be on a list to be tested. In fact, my doctor and the local health department don't even want me coming in, they want me to treat at home and if it gets worse to call them.

I live in Michigan.

I literally had all the symptoms, figured it was a really bad cold or light flu, even with the flu vax. My doctor said to come in if my fever went over 101 or if my bronchitis got worse (I have asthma). I stayed home from work for a week, because I am lucky enough to have very generous sick and annual leave. Still have gunk in my lungs.

I am pretty positive I caught it at Disney.

Did I have Covid-19? Probably not, but maybe, right? Who knows. I hit all the symptoms, it sucked, and I am still not 100% after a month.

High temperature, hallucinations, diarrhea, headaches, severe cough (dry heaves) shortness of breath, congestion, no appetite.

It began to break a couple of days ago. I was able to blow my nose and cough up some phlegm, but I thought it was just a severe case of the flu. Now, I am not so sure it wasn't a coronavirus.

I feel that I am about 50% recovered today.

No, I never went to a doctor.

Aches'n'pains, severe sinus stinging with sneezing, a dryness in my throat, a little coughing. I've passed them off as what happens when you are over 60, the pollen alert, and a cold front coming through.

But, it could have been a mild case of COVID-19.

In any case, I'm going to avoid crowds for a while. I don't want to spread it to others who might not be able to fight it off as easily as I could.
