When you are actually smart, other people notice and mention it. If you have to mention it, then you are likely not that smart. Trump says that he is smart despite all the evidence to the contrary.

He is like a flat earther.

Today he is a brilliant doctor well known in his field. He has never once,( I have known him 62 years) bragged about being smart. In conversation, he did mention he was in Japan, sometime after I went to Japan, in relation to a lecture. But that would not have been said, if I had not started the conversation by saying, "I was recently in Japan."

...Bob is one of the most modest people I have ever met. Kind and generous. I could go on, but you are absolutely correct....."Well I learned early that those who are super smart never have to say it"

and Bob never said he was "smart." But he was really "brilliant", not just smart, and modest too. Oh, got to add this, Bob was the opposite of "selfish" He was giving, and did some work for "free."

and two in England. He chose MIT. He was the most unassuming human being I ever knew - an absolute genius with a photographic memory. And you'd have to dig deep to find a kinder or more gentle or patient person. He beat up everyone at poker. He had two obsessions - Coltrane and the pyramids of Egypt. Oh how he loved jazz. We became good friends - I am still in touch with his widow and kids.

“As of right now and yesterday anybody that needs a test – that’s the important thing – and the tests are all perfect,”

Seems to me the only people who "need a test" in his book are people who are already exhibiting severe symptoms... people who need to be hospitalized and would be quarantined upon arrival at the hospital no matter what -- no test or positive test.

Talk about closing the barn doors after the horses have fled.

What about efforts to contain In the Community?

There is apparently no surveillance testing going on. No sampling. No testing of traced contacts that appear well. And reportedly, we can't even manage to test those identified as people under investigation (PUIs) who are showing symptoms severe enough to require monitoring.

And of course, no testing of "self-referred" people showing symptoms, even if they live with, or work with, highly vulnerable others.

What about early detection and containment?

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I just can't stand this anymore without wanting to scream!

Yes, there are "true believers." and there will always be. But Trump's total insensitivity and stupidity on this subject, have decreased the number in my opinion. Why? This is about life and death, and Trump doesn't seem to have a clue. Did he really say, "Tests are beautiful"?

That could be one of his stupidest comments. But I am sure there will be more and some will be worse. That is who Trump is, and when you think you have seen it all....there is more!
