On CNN Wolf Blitzer: only 46 of the 3500 people on board the Grand Princess were tested, and

21 of those 46 tested positive. Blitzer asked Sanjay Gupta "what about the other 3450 people on board that ship?" Gupta responded "They're going to have to figure this out."

ship tested positive. 3450 HAVEN'T BEEN TESTED YET. The passengers will probably be tested at the Air Force bases. The crew of over 1000 will remain aboard the cruise vessel (as of now) where they, too, will hopefully be tested.

This will be an enormous operation.

The Diamond Princess was the first cruise ship.

The Grand Princess is offshore in San Francisco.

It's confusing because the cruise ships have similar names.

being quarantined off the CA coast. When Pence was reporting on it, it sounded like only 21 people on the whole ship tested positive. It was rather shocking to hear the Blitzer/Gupta exchange in clarifying the situation.

Probably all were symptomatic or had been in close contact.

It raises real questions about everyone else though
1000 positive tests would be a real floating nightmare.

that the ones being tested had been on the prior cruise with then passenger who died in CA and were showing symptoms. But not sure how accurate that was.
