Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIt appears that Mo Dowds weather vane has---errr---predictibly shifted.
Trust me---after reading her current piece, your mouth will drop open and your head will shake back and forth in disbelief that a highly paid national pundit could get something so wrong.Mo is the champion of made-up narratives, and here she is showing her masterful skills doing just that.

HOW did the one formerly known as The One go for two?
In his renomination acceptance speech here on Thursday night, he told us that Americas problems were tougher to solve than he had originally thought.
And thats why he has kindly agreed to give us more time.
Because, after all, its our fault.
So you see, the election four years ago wasnt about me, President Obama explained. It was about you. My fellow citizens, you were the change.
We were the change!

(15,472 posts)I like Maureen hoped Shrubs policies would all be abolished, Kkkarl imprisoned, and the misanthropic Leeches would all be nullified . What's her comments on the obstruction he faces everyday from people that have been in the ' Good ol boy ' network forever?

Problem is---we who know Mo well can see it a mile away.

(9,118 posts)Thanks for your sharing, Maureen. It's so-o-o-o nice to see another establishment pundit taking gratuitous shots at a President genuinely interested in helping all the people and not an entrenched, privileged money establishment when she could have given R-money's dubious promises and pretty-boy Pauly's pseudo-wonkery a well-deserved going-over. But that would interfere with such journalism's "non-partisanship," wouldn't it?
I still have bitter memories about the 2000 elections and seeing Mo Do shovel out the same steaming pile of (bleep) week after week after week until Vice President Gore statesmanly conceded the battle for the White House to Dubya and the eight years that followed.
No thanks to you, dear.
Saying snarky things about politicians might be good for MoDo's pocketbook. Saying snarky things about progressive politicians so they'll lose may prove some sort of "non-partisanship" in a world where the less-privileged and less-fortunate get to run into real-time hardship while the power establishment floats along on its merry way. Helping President Obama lose so that MoDo can find lots of snarky things to say about an R-money--Rand/Ryan administration might be good for Mo Do's pocketbook and good fodder for MoDo's columns, but it won't be good for the country and those of us who happen to live there.

(9,118 posts)Thank you. You are kind to my gray hairs and I appreciate it.
I don't think that my post was one of my better-composed and more-grammatical compositions, but thank you for letting me know that somebody else got the point, whether Ms Bigshot-columnist-and-political-insider-who-is-published-in-the-New_York_Times ever sees the product of my typing or takes heed of what I was attempting to say.
However sloppy the grammar or how glaring my other grammatical errors, I meant every d___ word of it.

(6,262 posts)She has become more bitter, more snarly and less readable for many reasons - especially her snarkiness toward Dems.
The writing is also less deft than in years past.
She used to be acidly funny even when skewering Dems - now just acid.

Not.
Gosh, MoDo, you're just so fucking clever. The brightest star in the journalistic firmament, the 21st Century Mencken, with talents Mencken could never have dreamed of - for example, W's vintage 2000 fluff girl.
