. I walked right through US customs. They didn’t ask me where in Italy I went or if I came into contact with sick people. They didn’t ask me anything.

And even if they had asked, they wouldn’t have the resources necessary to test anyone for #coronavirus coming from there because trump, pence and the entire traitor gop are criminally negligent and incompetent

She didn’t say she had a fever when she boarded.. She was referring to the lie from Pence, that inbound flights from Italy were being screened at the airport. Symptoms can change in an 8-12 hour timespan.. And infections can spread before symptoms even occur.

Why is the US relying on others and not checking people coming into the country?

Symptoms can develop during the 8 -10 hour flight from Italy to the US. It is a dereliction of duty for the CDC, Homeland Security and the US Government to rely on other countries to protect the welfare of it citizens. I do not see this as generating fake news, but highlighting a serious deficiency in our government's effort to protect our people.

Take a look at Tokyo Narita Airport. If I recall, they have thermal scanners permanently checking all incoming passengers.

It's ok to do it prior to departure, but that's only being done on selected flights from Northern Italy. What I am in Northern Italy but drive down to Rome and depart out of there to the the US??

I don't think the US's response can match what Japan has done years ago.

...everyone arriving in MXP (Milan Malpensa) was being checked with a thermal scanner.

No one was checked before departure when she returned to the US & no one was checked on arrival in EWR Newark.

She's a stewardess and just returned from Milan. She said she would stay 6 feet away from us. The office manager wiped down every surface she touched with disinfectant after she left.

23. A friend of mine flew into JFK from Japan a week ago

after having been to South Korea prior to being in Japan. She told the Immigration officer she'd been in both South Korea and Japan for two weeks and he didn't care.

Her employer, did. She works in Manhattan--and lives on the upper west side--and was requested by her company to work from home for two weeks. She spent the first week at her apartment and is going this weekend to her house in the Catskills where she will work for the second week of "quarantine".
