Why the simpering?

In trying blazingly to grasp how those scientists, doctors (and one mouth breather) at the CDC yesterday could just stand there and simper at the idiot deviant who heads our government, I concluded: it sustains the patriarchy that provides them their privilege.

That and no balls.

"No, that's not correct. The facts are ...." Of course that person would be summarily fired, trashed and tweeted upon; or if not a firable government employee, attacked and tweeted upon mercilessly, discredited, doxxed, harassed by MAGAts and driven from his/her non-government job. It takes a courageous person to stand up to Fat Nixon these days.

who would like to do that, but many really want to be able to do their jobs and perhaps are putting the well being of the public first. If they are fired, they can't help anyone.

Some of course are probably just sheep.

If Trump fire them, they would have no problems getting jobs elsewhere. All of them are internationally recognized scientist.
Besides, Trump will be gone by November.
If I was in their position, I would not hesitate even if it leads to my firing.

They could fear for their own and family’s safety. Also, they can do more for the country by nodding and smiling in front of Trump, and go on protecting America after he waddles away. It’s a difficult position for them.

I don't know what's in their minds - but in their situations I would be asking myself, "If I resign/am fired/etc. who will Trump replace me with?" "Which is a greater danger to the public - not publically contradicting him, or being forced out and replaced with someone like Ben Carson?"

who think they alone can see the greatness and everybody else is blind to it. Even after he turns against them, and malignant narcissists will always turn against people around them, they will still be slavishly dependent on even the barest glance from him.

Enablers in any codependent relationship are often sicker than the person with the original problem.

That waste of protoplasm will always have his fans. We can only hope to outvote them.
