Something's happening with the Grand Princess

A 105 foot personnel transport ship has rendezvoused with the ship. The “Miss Tammy” is a crew transport vessel. It departed Alameda at 4:04 PM PST and went directly to the ship. Both ships have been dead in the water for more than 30 minutes.

that took place today. (It's in their live update roll, which doesn't provide links to most entries: https://www.cnn.com/asia/live-news/coronavirus-outbreak-03-07-20-intl-hnk/index.html)

Hopefully, these means that they are removing them from the ship before any next care/quarantine steps, not just parking them out of the way.

Pence said state and federal officials have “developed a plan which is being implemented this weekend to bring the ship into a non-commercial port. All passengers and crew will be tested for the coronavirus and quarantined as appropriate. Those that require additional medical attention will also receive it."

Also, the trade industry guy discussed the costs:

Adam Goldstein, global chairman of the Cruise Lines International Association, told Pence it was the “commitment” of the cruise line industry to “work closely with government and to go above and beyond anything we are currently doing to screen even more stringently to prevent those who should not be allowed to board, to monitor and test and care for those who are on board and to transition and help pay for any sick guests or crew to move to locations staffed and equipped COVID-19 cases."

“We will work aggressively with government to further develop and strengthen all necessary protocols for prevention, for detection and for care,” Goldstein said.

off or on at this time because they are testing one woman. This is in Long Beach, CA.

Another California-based cruise ship is being held with passengers aboard due to coronavirus concerns.

The city of Long Beach said on Twitter today that the CDC has decided to hold passengers on board the Carnival Panorama docked at the Long Beach Cruise Terminal while a passenger is tested for coronavirus.

The passenger was transported to a hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department this morning. The move to keep passengers on board was done "in an abundance of caution," according to the Tweet.

According to Long Beach, no residents have tested positive for coronavirus.

Update: Carnival Panorama passenger in Long Beach tests negative for coronavirus

https://www.dailynews.com/2020/03/07/coronavirus-concerns-medical-matter-keeps-passengers-on-cruise-ship-in-long-beach/

Update: The Carnival Panorama informed passengers late Saturday that tests on a passenger came back negative for the coronavirus.

They were informed at 9:45 p.m. by Capt. Carlo Queirolo. The negative result was confirmed by the City of Long Beach.

“Because of the late hour in receiving the results, the current guests will stay on board overnight and debark on Sunday morning,” Carnival said in a statement.

“We thank our guests for their tremendous patience, cooperation and understanding and the support of local officials” who had required coronavirus testing “out of an abundance of caution,” the statement said.
