By reports, Coronavirus is extremely infectious so shaking hands with someone who turned out to be infected with it would have exposed Schlapp to it. He may or may not have been infected after his interaction. Depending on his sanitary habits (how often does he wash his hands, does he use hand sanitizer between hand shakes?) Schlapp may have exposed others, including Trump, to it.

12. Still Not Protecting The American People

There should be a process that is strictly followed with every expected case. That process doesn't look like it has been defined yet.

We have a case here in Omaha that is exhibit A on how not to do things.

A 36 year old woman was in the UK and two days before her scheduled return she came down with symptoms and apparently decided to wait until she got to Omaha to seek treatment. With a public health issue that should not be up to the person to decide. The UK should have put her in quarantine for 14 days. Instead she flew back, exposing people in at least 3 airports and two planes before exposing her driver in Omaha. But it didn't stop there. She decided to go to the local VFW hall for an event, exposing another group of people. And who knows what stores and other public places she went. But who can blame her when Trump is telling people to go back to work if they are feeling up to it.

That is a failure of officials in the UK as well as federal, state and local officials that allowed her to be out and about unchecked. Certainly not this long after it has been known that emergency procedures need to be in place. and restriction on activities. Just a total screw-up.

but what is really needed is urgent and massive education of American population on how to PREVENT catching this virus. Testing does not stop infection. It simply confirms it. It is far better if you can avoid infection in the first place before worrying about testing. But I have seen nothing on TV ads by gov't on what is the best method to prevent infection. That $8.xx Billion approved for virus issue should immediately begin a massive education campaign.
