HE ...

He is a divider, who is only interested in his ‘base’. All others need not apply.

If you don’t support him, it’s because you’re a ‘hater’, and not because you disagree with his conduct, his words, or his policies.

His supporters are aggressive and vitriolic, and have been known to be threatening – and sometimes even violent.

He attaches ‘labels’ to people who disagree with him, words clearly meant to identify that person as an enemy – i.e. someone who isn’t buying what he’s trying to sell.

He loves big rallies – the attention, the applause, the downright adoration. He thinks the rally crowds are representative of the nation as a whole, and therefore believes he is more popular than he actually is.

He’s fond of pointing out that the country is fucked-up, and only ‘he’ can fix it.

He uses ‘spokespeople’ and ‘representatives’ who promote lies and/or misinformation on his behalf – and when they are caught doing so, he denies that they are associated with him, or that they’re acting with his consent or approval.

He makes promises to his followers that he knows are implausible, and impossible to deliver.

He whines constantly about how everything is ‘rigged against him’, and how the media is determined to ‘bring him down’.

He often takes credit for things he never did.

He refuses to take responsibility for his own mistakes, and blames others for his failures.

If you’re wondering who I’m talking about, there are actually two correct answers. So I’ll just leave it at that.

I used to unequivocally dismiss the horseshoe theory, but not any more. The chicanery employed over the past few days has settled any lingering doubt.

Maybe once he is out of office, our government will deal with him. Long, long prison time!
Mitch McConnell too, as well as a few other traitorous Republicans like Lindsey Graham
and Matt Gates.

... often depends upon the ideology of some members of the jury. It’s not supposed to be that way, but that’s the reality. I think most jurors try to be even handed, but we’re kidding ourselves if we don’t acknowledge that some fail that standard.

Post count is irrelevant in an alert because the identities of the posters are not supposed to be revealed (although I guess you can get around that if you search hard enough).

If your post was removed by a moderator, that’s a little different. Post count actually CAN be considered there - and should. But our moderators are generally pretty good, and go out of their way to be fair. And you’re still here, so you weren’t banned or tombstoned.

I suspect you just got some jurors who didn’t like what you said.

I haven’t had any hides for a while – but I can tell you that the last eight or so I had were for posts that were anti-Bernie. So it’s not a matter of post count, and I’m not “getting away with” anything.

The fact is that there seems to have been a sea change here with respect to Bernie. The fact that he continues to try and divide the Democratic party, and has now sunk to allowing his campaign to distribute false information and doctored videos to hurt our own front-runner, Joe Biden, has angered too many of us to be ignored.

This site’s Admins are astute politics watchers, and are loyal Democrats. I doubt that they are any happier with Bernie’s current tactics than the rest of us.

There is a growing groundswell of fury towards Bernie and his conduct – and pretending it’s not there would be counter-productive to discussions that really need to be had among party members.

Bernie has been given ‘the benefit of the doubt’ here since 2016. But when you start using false and/or misleading talking points (much of which originated with the GOP/Putin) in order to demean our probable nominee, it’s time to reassess whether that ‘benefit of the doubt’ is still warranted – especially on a site that’s sole purpose in an election year is to unite us behind the candidate most likely to be running against Trump in November.

propagandist methods used by anyone purporting to work at odds with a common enemy, Trump.

Joe said we mustn’t become like him. Bernie?

He is not elevating the conversation.

… which is basically an email newsletter circulated among friends/acquaintances where we discuss politics (among other topics).

The man who runs ‘The List’ is a staunch Bernie supporter – needless to say, we’ve had quite a few heated discussions as a result.

Over the past few days, I have asked him about Bernie using doctored videos, and promoting false and/or misleading information about Joe Biden.

My specific queries are completely ignored – he refuses to even touch the topic. Instead he replies by telling me how horrible Biden is, how the Dems refuse to acknowledge that only Bernie can beat Trump, et cetera. In short, he never addresses Bernie’s lies and deceit.

The other night, his response to several facts I’d posted about Bernie’s lower-than-low tactics was “Biden is in the early stages of dementia” – a RW meme being propagated and circulated by Bernie’s own campaign.

In short, I am not seeing any difference between Bernie supporters and Trump-humpers. They simply change the subject when confronted with facts. Just as Trump can do no wrong in the eyes of his fans, so BS fans are now firmly in the “Bernie can do no wrong” camp.

As I asked my friend yesterday, “How far away are we from hearing that Bernie was ‘chosen by God’ to be elected?”

Just as the Trump cult refuses to acknowledge his litany of lies, so the Bernie cult refuses to do the same.
