(13,582 posts)a condition he has or thinks he has. Maybe even has friends telling him that's really the shit, and he wants to get on it. So he goes to the doctor and his doctor doesn't agree, and prescribes a different drug, treatment, diet or whatever. If the guy thinks his doctor is wrong, or even pissed at him, does that hurt the chances of the different drug or treatment working?

And then they list all these bad side effects too.

Companies will, and should, still be permitted to advertise to medical professionals via magazines and other publications aimed at health care pros. The real reasons for the price gouging of pharmaceuticals are twofold: legal direct to consumer ads and, most importantly stated, because they can.
