CDC estimates that influenza has resulted in between 9 million – 45 million illnesses, between 140,000 – 810,000 hospitalizations and between 12,000 – 61,000 deaths annually since 2010.

or travel to China if they really think that the CV and the flu are not that much different. Or hell,tell them to contact Ted Cruz who's probably scared out of his mind about now.

6. There's a vaccine for the flu. That gives us some control over it.

Right now, there is no vaccine for this virus and no good way to control it. Control is going to be based on individual behavior to help prevent the spread. If people don't take it seriously and don't behave accordingly, we will completely lose control of this virus.

Influenza is a known pathogen, we have a vaccine, rapid in-office testing and anti-virals to treat it if caught early. We know how to manage it, yet that many people still die. We can't stop its cyclical nature so we live with it.

COVID-19 is an emerging pathogen, totally unrelated to Influenza. From what we know so far, has a higher mortality rate and more contagious. No vaccine. No treatment.

Not sure what else - it's really like comparing apples to oranges.
