14. That's not the same thing as CDC not reporting numbers and leaving it up to the states.

Aggregate state numbers are more accurate because they are presumptive positives yet to be confirmed by the CDC. Once the CDC makes a confirmation, they are added to the national numbers.

Rank and file at the CDC are frustrated AF with leadership on this. Trump administration as politicized the F out of it.

The frustration is that there isn't much to report when testing isn't happening as it should. They are pissed off about the lack of data.

ETA: there is no consistent message and direction from the top hampering efforts of the experts
