Kind of like whitewashing the Sistine Chapel ceiling--in poor taste and sacrilege perhaps for the devout.. but hilarious if you have a good sense of humor.

He looks so modest! I know he does it on the "real" Shroud but they emphasized it more here.

ARIEL has got to the bottom of the Turin Shroud!

After fruit and wine stains, and blood and grease stains, ARIEL has conquered Jesus stains!

America would never run such an irreligious ad. But I love it. When I was in France, I was shocked by some of the TV ads.

Interview with American scientists, none other than Carl Jung stated that Americans are the most conformist society on earth.

This is scarey in many ways. One of the things that brought about the epic fail of Nazi Germany was the Germans propensity for conformity. Jung spent many years - in fact he started in 1919 while analyzing German clients' dreams - trying to understand what part of the German psyche was coming up with such notions of a Single and Terrible Solution for all societal failures.

Yet we are higher on the conformity scale than they are. And certainly we fall far behind the French in terms of being able to think clearly and "freely."

There was a book I read a long time ago by Alice Miller...it's also a psychological analysis of how children are raised, how it changed a child's thought patterns as adults and how this produced the type of society that was ripe for totalitarianism. "For Your Own Good." I think it was called. I see a lot of parallels in the US.
