I don't know this story, and I'm pretty sure they had the best government-sponsored and paid-for health care plus what their money could buy. So for a son with leukemia and Ann's MS...they have my sympathy.

That being said ... My son?

Aren't they all his sons? Or does she have children from another father? If not, what does this have to do with empathy beyond what any father would do?

Even the article is all about Ann, Mitt and sons ... not one word about those "people" whose sons had lukemia or mothers with MS or any other tragic disease ... they, too, deserve, dare I say, "ObamaCares" healthcare... because he does.

Among the friends on tap tomorrow are Ted and Pat Oparowski, who sought Romney’s help when their son, David, was diagnosed with leukemia at age 14. The boy, according to The New York Times, asked Romney, a lawyer, to help him draft a will. Romney later gave the eulogy at the boy’s funeral, The Times reported.

The punctuation in that pararaph (use of both double and single quotation maks) also makes it clear that Ann Romney is quoting somebody else:

“And in particular, for Mitt — who really has been demonized in many ways as being heartless and for people to stand up and say, ‘Excuse me. He was there when my son was dying of leukemia. He came to my son’s bedside. He did all of these things for my son.’ And then another woman saying how Mitt was there for her. So there’s hundreds of those stories that haven’t been told. And it was refreshing to me for the American people to finally be able to see the lens through which I see my husband and the perspective in which I understand how he operates.”

I am guessing that after her convention speech, which generally went over well with the public, the campaign started viewing her as an asset (hence her joining him on MTP). But just as her campaign appearances started diminishing after several "You People!" type comments, I am guessing that a few more appearances like this - with the uniform thrashing that is following on social media, that she will suddenly be not so visible again.

if they just would get over their bias (my paraphrase except the word bias - that was hers) they would obviously love and embrace Mitt.

From the wife of the man who was advocating extreme policies, that have already been shown in Alabama to sweep up and effect legal citizens, in order to get people to "self-deport."

See, they are biased against Mitt. That they may actually hold reservations based on his words in the primaries, is simply bias. As in prejudice. Oh the irony just spins around in the wind, and Anne is so far removed that she just doesn't see it.
