I have never voted Republican in my life but I would have more confidence in any president of either party, including any former Republican president in this crisis than Trump.

(9,117 posts)I remember working an Obama campaign phone bank with couple of other Republicans-turned-Democrat and one or two of them were ex-Nixon Republicans. Nevertheless, we all pitched in to get Barrack Obama re-elected, even if we fought down our impulse to give our best Richard Nixon imitations when we called our fellow Americans and asked them to help re-elect the President.

The Radical Right has been in control of the Republican Party for over two decades. Competence was one of the things that went out the window, along with truthfulness, decency, honor, and integrity.
