What would the conservative answer to Planned Parenthood, Unplanned Parenthood, look like?

You may remember that there were about a dozen right wing organizations claiming to be the "conservative MoveOn.org" during the Bush administration, I don't think any of them survive to this day. But this has led me to wonder, what would the "conservative Planned Parenthood" look like, I mean they have conservative senior organizations, conservative girl scouts, conservative universities, etc.; so a conservative Planned Parenthood should be in the works.

Get ready for Unplanned Parenthood.

Here are some services:

Instead of emergency contraceptives, pharmacists can instead proudly list their names and pharmacies on a site or book saying that they will refuse to dispense emergency contraceptives. It's not like conservatives want women racing against the clock to get to a pharmacy and then be told by a pharmacist that their religion refuses them from dispensing emergency contraceptives, right?

Screening for breast cancers and being told that abortion causes breast cancer, a fact brought to you by the totally not quack organization, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons.

Pregnancy testing and pregnancy options counseling, no, just kidding about that last part. You will however be given a uterus monitoring system once it is determined that the woman is pregnant.

Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, treatment will include a big helping of shame and stigma. You may be branded.

Comprehensive sexuality education, supplying pamphlets on things such as "Were you LEGITIMATELY raped?" and post-abstinence only education items on stopping HIV with bleach and how Mountain Dew can stop pregnancy.

Menopause treatments, as in helping wealthy Republicans find new wives.

And more... Well, not really.

Come on righties, let's see all your ideas on family values, family planning, and the results from those ideas all in one place. Put up or shut up. Unplanned Parenthood!

"Crisis Pregnancy Centers" which lure desperate pregnant women in so that they can horrify them with photos of dead fetuses.... There is one across the street from planned parenthood in my town.

It's up to God!

I once actually had a Fundie acquaintance say that to me years ago when she asked me if I planned to have any more children (I had two) and I told her no, my family is complete. Not wanting to get into an argument, I didn't tell her that it WAS up to me when I had my tubes tied.

This is the whole crux of the matter for women. Motherhood is UP TO YOU--whether, when, how many.

Their radio spots are done by women with practiced, high-trained, carefully calibrated voices expert in conveying melting sympathy.

It's a crock. CPC's will spew all kinds of anti-choice information at frightened, desperate women. It's sick.
