Is "malaise" a fitting word to use right now?

The standard definition:

ma·laise
/məˈlāz/

noun
a general feeling of discomfort, illness, or uneasiness whose exact cause is difficult to identify.

The exact current cause isn’t really hard to identify. There are also medical definitions of the word that DO have to do with the onset of disease.

The “Malaise speech” refers to a televised speech on the economy given by President Carter. He never said the word “malaise” but Pat (America First) Buchanan is widely credited for naming the speech in an early example of punditry framing the narrative. Conservatives have used it for 40 as a bludgeon on Liberals and to promote their own sense of manliness.

I just felt this morning a sense of ....SIGH. What a week.
