My favorite blog comments about Obama vs. Romney

And the DNC in general vs. the RNC.

Post yours, here is one I gleaned from the blogger stream, but sums up my position better than anything.

RWINGER: “The fact is no president won a second term during a faltering economy and high unemployment.”

RATIONAL PERSON: But then no President has ever run against Mitt Romney. Once again the Republicans chose a weak candidate, a very weak candidate in this case. The man has no convictions. He now holds the opposite positions that he once held. I’ve never heard of ANYONE doing that before. Sure people change positions, but not all of their positions to the polar opposite of where you once stood. That’s not natural. Only a bad politician would try such a bogus thing.

In addition, he’s afraid to release his tax returns to the public, and yet he wants to rewrite our tax codes for us. I don’t think so. If he doesn’t trust us with his taxes, we can’t trust him with ours.

People on the right have gotten just too extreme and they reject rational intelligent candidates, you know, people who believe in science. Yes, FDR DID win his reelection bid. Twice, in fact. The first time the economy was showing signs of improvement, but still had a long way to go. Sounds familiar, eh? Furthermore, Obama is relying on many of the policies FDR pushed, like stimulus spending and public works projects. They worked for FDR and they’ve been working for Obama. We’re much better off today than we were 4 years ago. Republicans, on the other hand, reject FDR’s approach. And yet FDR got reelected. See where I’m going with this?
