Keep advancing women but do we realize how far back women have started from?

Fred Astaire is synonymous with great dancers but something said a long time ago just dawned on me on who the greatest dancer is. Ginger Rogers. She did everything Fred did but backwards and in heels. So the greatest dancer was overshadowed because of being a woman. Maybe an app or algorithm replacing any occurrence of Fred Astaire with “Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire”.

“DescriptionBackwards and in Heels women in film and their struggle against bias "After all, Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels" - Ann Richards Women have been instrumental in the success of American cinema since its very beginning. ... Google Books”

Neighbors obituary mentioned she filled bombs with explosives during WWII. All I knew was she a farm wife that made great pies for church suppers.

There were people working there that worked during World War II. One that had respected celebrity status was a woman who had worked there continuously from during the War.

It was a great little film and she was quite a good actress as well. Not quite as charismatic as Myrna Loy, but she held her own against William Powell. It's definitely worth a watch.
