Might Romney have impairment from 1968 brain injury???

(EDIT TO ADD: I haven't read through the comments at DailyKos as yet; shared here first. This theory could be thoroughly debunked for all I know, but I'm sharing for your consideration, as I'd never heard about this previous severe accident.)

I shared this in Ilsa's post (http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=1308718), asking about Romney's odd gait. I noticed that a while ago and have entertained the thought that he may have a mild case of Asperger's, given his social awkwardness, odd movements, etc.

I started researching it a bit ago and stumbled upon this DailyKos post.

VERY INTERESTING.

EXCERPT:

As anyone attending to the current presidential campaigns knows, Mitt Romney has a jittery, disengaged manner in his interactions with others; this is identified by many as his being "out of touch." It first caught my attention four years ago, when he emerged as a potential GOP presidential candidate. I initially assumed it was a result of his origins in a privileged and wealthy family in which he never really grew up emotionally, leaving him essentially a spoiled rich brat even in his adulthood. His ruthlessness in business and awkwardness in human interaction seemed to confirm this, and I can't deny that it may explain much of his current social dysfunction.

But this spring, when he claimed to be unable to remember having bullied John Lauber in his adolescence, bloggers were wondering if he was showing signs of dementia (as opposed to simply lying clumsily, which I suspected). Knowing about such disorders, I dismissed these hypotheses, understanding that his childhood and adolescent memories would remain intact, while his ability to retain and recall more recent and current information would be impaired if he was truly demented. But I got curious, and researched Romney's history in a bit more depth.

I found this.

It tells of his having been seriously injured in a car wreck in France in 1968, so severely that he was declared dead at the scene. And while he was later said to have only sustained a concussion, his apparent prolonged unconsciousness suggests that traumatic brain injury (TBI) would have been a more appropriate diagnosis.

disqualification-level serious, perhaps?

Something is really off about Romney. There are many disengaged, out-of-touch assholes out there, but there is something physiologically amiss with Romney, imho.

Whatever is wrong with him--Peter Pan Syndrome, Aspergers, dementia, makes him unfit to lead. I DO NOT CARE. The man is a menace.

and NO head injury. He walked away and spent no time in the hospital.

I don't have a link, but I read it on DU.

Maybe others have found other reliable documents and reports.

Something is seriously off with this guy though, beyond just being an elitist asshole, as he's often referred to.

Thanks.

But there's something else to consider: what if Mitt (or worse, his church) considers his near-death experience a "sign" that was "meant" to live long enough be President?

I think it would be normal to expect him to produce them if he wants to exert power over our lives and the world.

even before the accident he was a bully who thought it funny to hack off people's hair and run blind professors into doors.

But his apparent inability to 'remember' the incident from college is more likely selective Conservative memory.

They all have it tattooed on the backs of their hands: "I don't recall."
