And I really don't want to share the same land with the people that support him.

(4,533 posts)Trump is just a temporary aberration. Life has ups and downs. It isnt realistic to expect to never face bad times. The US will swing back soon. The youngest 40% of those eligible to vote favor Dems to Repubs two to one, an unprecedented margin. When they begin to vote in larger numbers the Republican Party will cease to be a national political party. Patience. This too will pass.

(4,533 posts)I know about the failure of past expectations. But at long last the aging of the cavalry coming to our rescue will put them in voting booths. Turnout in 2018 among the young actually spiked up. George Will and Tucker Carlson concede the Republican Party will soon cease to be a national party. The pretty darn conservative blue dog pollster Mark Penn, who always pitches that Dems should tilt right, now concedes this change is inevitable. As the big muddy just keeps rising the Repubs are gonna drown.

(9,446 posts)Because I think even the biggest suckups will stop praising him at every turn if that happens, and he'll decide not to run for re-election.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's already considering some kind of victory declaration and resignation.
