You really want to hurt the Trump administration? You really want to go after the right-wing and the Republican Party?
You challenge their sovereignty, legitimacy, and authority.
There CAN be a risk of consequence, we can make it ourselves too - We need to spread the word that the "other side of the aisle" is not equipped to handle this or any other crisis.

It's a planned feature so not surprising one bit. We all knew we were fucked if anything bad happened while he was still occupying his stolen office.
