I took 14 days off from my work

to self quarantine since I am higher risk...over 60 with health issues and my sister, who I roommate with, has serious auto immune problems and kidney failure.

My company was very accommodating although it will be without pay. Will be ok for a month or so since squirreled away a bit for emergencies.

Will extend leave if needed. My health and the health of family comes first.

Good health everyone.

Yet they are requiring staff to report. Many are over 60. Got the email in today that if you are in need of leave beyond your sick leave you need a Dr's note.

That sure seems smart....

My husband has agreed to stay home for the two weeks initially. It's hard for him as he is a natural helper who doesn't like being told he can't do something. He went to his pool league on Wed night at the local dive bar. His lack of judgement and caution alarms me. I suspect he might be out licking doorknobs if I didn't lay down the law.

We are both over 60 and I have medical issues. I've been having low grade symptoms for a few weeks. He has also been feeling low energy and sniffly. We are also in allergy season. I'm not worried too much right now. It's a comfort to know we will be staying in and doing what we can to stay safe. He better not get sick or he won't live to hear the end of it from me...

best. Then they took the weekend off and left me working, lol. SO since they gave the thumbs up to a skeleton crew, I usually go in at 3:00 but will wait until 7:00 to relieve the other employee. And not go in tomorrow because it is staffed. Talk to them on Monday. But ya, I want out for about a month and watch how it all shakes out. Cancellations everywhere so the owner will appreciate. And I can financially do it.

taking the option of isolating too, just to help slow down the spread. There are so many conscience and aware than I would have thought. We have a container filled with disinfected pens for a customer to get to sign papers. Put those in a whole separate pile and disinfect those. Customers are really appreciating that little step and being aware not to just throw it back in container. It is interesting.

I saw more people open the glass door with a sleeve and carrying hand sanitizer. I mean, I think that is good stuff and people taking it seriously.

I talked to my 24 yr old today who is going remote with work and school. I asked what he had been doing with free time and he literally said, been staying in. That is what this is all about.

I'm living with family members that are pushing 80, and one has COPD - I can't risk them getting Captain Trumps.
