Self quarantine. Reporting from camp sofa

I’m recovering from thoracic surgery. And I’m 71 years old,so I’m staying out of public places. I’m happy to report that they found no cancer. They removed a nodule from my lungs which turned out to be a calcification. So I’m saving my no cancer dance for when I’ve recovered from surgery but now I find myself with an underlying condition for the coronavirus. Doesn’t help the anxiety. bBinge watching BBC murder mysteries. How’s everybody else doing?

Hope your recovery goes well. Glad to know it's not cancer. BBC murder mysteries are the best!

I haven't quite gone to Camp Sofa just yet, but my husband is happy at Camp Recliner with a Netflix IV drip. I spent the afternoon at the rescue barn where I volunteer loving on horses and doing chores.

Take care of yourself. May we come out of the other side of this mess with a full DU squad intact.

And though most of them (59 equines on the property) have come from horrific situations of abuse and neglect. They are ALL so loving and forgiving of their previous mistreatment. That barn is a very special place and a little bit of my heart resides there.

If you want to read some stories of rehabilitation and redemption, here is the website:

www.equamore.org

You can click on "Equamore Horses" on the left side of the home page and read through some of the stories. Something else to do from Camp Sofa!

We just got back from the Newark BJ’s. It was picked over for some things, mainly bread, milk, eggs, ground beef, and tp. Hubby and I work at UD - ground zero for the DE cases so far. Thankfully we’re not in the engineering department. If you need something like cold meds, cleaning supplies, etc. the best stocked was Rite Aid in Park and Shop.

I have to go in for an outpatient surgical procedure on Friday. Christiana Care, so far, is not cancelling OP surgicenter procedures, so I guess I’m still on the schedule.

Hope you can relax and put all your efforts into healing. If you live near Newark, and need something, give me a hollar! We’ve been told we’re working from home until they tell us we’re not.

Good luck with your procedure. They took good care of me at Christiana. This latest thing showed up on a scan as I was being treated for breast cancer, after the lumpectomy. Hopefully now, I can move on to the radiation at Helen Graham and maybe get my life back. My brother works at Drexel and they have been told to work from home. I am a retired News Journal photographer, so I covered Joe Biden for 20 years. Really hoping he gets elected, because I know what a good man he is. Maybe I’ll see you around.

Will need more 1,000 piece puzzles or good Netflix or Prime recommendations for sure. We've learned you can only disgustedly complain about trump for so long in one day.

I had to go to the doctor, Friday, but wore a face mask. Felt pretty silly, but what the hey?

Great you were cancer free. I wish you well with your recovery.

May we all come out of this sunny-side up.

I've got ground glass nodules in my lungs that thankfully are too small to biopsy and I'm going for minor surgery on the 24th, - cardiac clearance on Monday. Today I finished all the Project Runway shows for this year and tomorrow plan to find British Mysteries that I haven't yet watched. I did go to the Supermarket today - but it was my last foray. The only person I plan to come in contact with is my husband and my doctors for the next month. 71years old too.

Went to the doc's office a few days ago and he told me it was a virus but not THE virus. So i have been suffering alone at Camp Sofa for the last week and a half.

Thank God for TV. When I get tired of TV I will check in here at DU. I must be getting better as I haven't had the energy to write anything until just now.

The hell of it is that I got a flu shot last October.

Reading, cleaning more...did anyone realize how many knobs, switches and buttons you touch around house? Took me long time to do all, i do that every few days. I even washed a few windows.

I opened up wine and declared 4pm my new happy hour.

I keep busy during day and told myself no tv till after 5pm so I don’t end up on the couch all day.

We listened to a rant by George Carlin today, god I miss him and Robin Williams.

We ordered two bird feeders online and after a few days now have birds at two windows. We got the kind that have suction cups to windows and are clear so birds feel close to you.

Best part is getting closer to my younger adult daughter mid 30’s, she is home now and we have been talking and texting a lot.

that there's no cancer.

We're binge watching DVD's of "House of Cards", never saw it before, but with the awards it's been nominated for (and won) I had to grab the first four seasons when I saw them at the library last week.
