I forgot to buy Mayo, so I put French dressing in the Tuna salad. The chopped pickles helped. The lady next door came over for lunch ... we sat on opposite ends of the table. We agreed, french dressing just isn't the same.
PS - my heart really goes out to people trying to isolate and don't have the money or ability to stock up in advance. This has to be frightening. Please check on your neighbors who live alone or elderly couples. Talk to them through the door if you must.

(27,806 posts)You can make.it. I actually bought stuff today that I can make other things from.
I did see plenty of mayonnaise in the store, though.

It was just a reminder at how "for granted" we take so many small things...

(2,334 posts)topped with 3/4+ cups of oil with 2 tbls of white wine vinegar or lemon juice (or both), 1tsp grey poupon or 1/2tsp of mustard and a pinch of salt. Ingredients should be same temp best if cold, I put it in the fridge and let it chill for a while. An immersion blender in a pint canning jar works great but a standard blender is fine. 20 to 30 seconds and you have fresh mayo.
