NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) -- Two Tennessee brothers have been ordered to stop and desist in their buying and selling medical goods and products during the coronavirus pandemic. Following reports of possible price gouging, The Tennessee Attorney General's Office has ordered Matt Colvin and Noah Colvin for possible price gouging. An investigation is underway.

ORIGINAL STORY: Tennessee man who purchased 17,700 hand sanitzer bottles for upcharge can't resell them

“We will not tolerate price gouging in this time of exceptional need, and we will take aggressive action to stop it,” said Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III. “During this pandemic, we ask that you report suspicious activity to the Division of Consumer Affairs and refrain from threatening or hostile communication with individuals or businesses you may suspect are price gouging. Our team will review complaints closely and we are prepared to act to protect Tennesseans.”

“This is a time where we have to focus on helping our neighbors, not profiting from them,” said Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron. “We’re not going to tolerate selfish actions that put the health of Kentuckians at risk, and I’m grateful for Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery’s partnership in bringing an end to this harmful scheme.”

The brothers are believed to have bought the items in Tennessee and Kentucky, according to the attorney general's office. The state of emergency declared by Governor Bill Lee on Thursday enables an anti-price gouging law in the state that prohibits vendors from charging too much during a crisis tied to a state emergency.
Anyone who sees price gouging and would like to report a complaint,

If there are receipts on where it was bought, it should be returned to those merchants. The money these two greedy brothers made of the anxiety of others should be taxed at 100%.

Snip-- "A local church and representatives of the Tennessee Attorney General's Office hauled away box after box of hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes and medical masks from Matt Colvin's home and storage units on Sunday morning, leaving the Hixson man to contemplate what comes next.

"Every facet of my personal and business life has been laid bare online," said Colvin, sitting in the dark on the floor of a storage unit. "I'm worried about charges."

:::::Bucky you put yourself out there:::::

snip--"When Amazon shut him down on March 5 to prevent him from cashing in on a public health crisis, Colvin thought he'd become the face of frustrated online sellers who are stuck with in-demand inventory they can't move. Instead, he became the face of profiteering in a time of fear, the target of death threats, pranks and a relentless barrage of hate both online and off.

"At the end of the day, I'm sorry I bought all this stuff, not just because of how it's affected me but because of how things have changed since I bought it," Colvin said on Sunday. "I know I'm splitting hairs here, but I wasn't selling this stuff after March 5. If I had known how things would be now, I wouldn't have touched any of this. There's no way."

More at article.

Wow, Bucky is suprised that greed and public bragging on his actions has blowback. I'm not feeling sympathy for him & Noah. Also, death threats are freaking wrong, as if that has to be said.

::I'd use the face palm emoji, but hands off face.::

by purchasing this stuff from places he claimed "didn't need it"-- as a sourcing agent for places that did and that most of the upcharge was his costs in obtaining and mailing it.. which was a lie because shipping is always extra in ebay etc.

And I think that Amazon automatically charges sales tax now.
