If workers do not have the money to spend, they will borrow.
And as workers ands business suffer, tax revenue will drop, affecting public workers who also spend money.
A vicious circle.

Some get fuck-all. Some are covered by contracts. Some can buy COBRA. It all depends, and people need to be aware of their own status.
