Mon Mar 16, 2020, 10:45 PM

our immigration/refugee policies. Especially Denmark. I have posted on this a lot in the past.

Now about COVID-19:

I am in probably the most fucked up EU nation (Sweden) in terms of how they are dealing with COVID-19. Our fucking government is paralysed by fear of action (so typically Swedish there, lol) and thus listening to fucking IDIOT epidemiologists and top level health ministers who have huge social agenda conflicts (they are rabid far Left Wing apologists for the disastrous immigration/refugee policies that were in effect until 2016 and helped to fuel the rise of the far right white nationalist Sweden Democrats scum to surge in numbers in the Riksdag, our parliament) and are doing EVERYTHING possible to keep the entire country OPEN. They also, like Trump, are trying to stop all testing.

They do not want to admit there is anything going on now, as they ridiculed all the other EU nations who closed down as racists and reactionary for weeks now!

You would have to live here to truly understand how delusional and willing to outright lie and suppress info that some are here, and it always involves immigration in one way or another.

The closest I can come to describing it is take Trump, make his number one priority to bring in 50 million (population adjusted for the US that is how many refugees Sweden has taken in over the past 17 or so years.) refugees into the US and then do ANYTHING to justify it, anything to cover up any systemic issues, use ANY tactics to quash dissent (including the outlawing of speech that is critical of Trump and the government for his 50 million refugees), bully and intimidate the press with the police, lie hundreds of times, cover up (via top level police lies and top level police covertly threatening the press like common gangsters) insanely brutal crimes systematically done by gangs of refugees, and then he, Trump would say if possible, he hopes to bring in 50 MILLION MORE.

Now, mix that all up with COVID-19 pandemic, invent a meme that makes it racist (I am multiracial part black btw) to want testing and to want workplaces and schools to shut, and you have Sweden atm. I wish I were joking, but alas, I am actually UNDER describing the outright lunacy here.

One the worst assholes is our State epidemiologist Dr. Anders Tegnell. He has been HORRIFIC with misinformation, disinformation, straight up lies, bullshit normative scolding and completely baiting most other EU nations. He has laughed at people who said it (I am NOT joking on all that follows) was contagious. He said Norway, Denmark, Germany etc etc were all racists for closing down. He publically tried to shame the CEO of Spotify and all the Spotify workers on state radion for closing down and ordering the workers to telecommute. He calls people who want to shut the the schools racist and fear-mongers, and that the schools need to stay open so that immigrants do not have to go and stay at home. He called people who did not want to go out and shop or dine at restaurants cowards and SD (the far right Sweden Democrats) enablers. He said for weeks that it was basically IMPOSSIBLE to catch CPVID-19 and it would all go away in a few days to week (see, I did say reverso-world Trump). He is a fucking lunatic!!! I hope he is brought up on criminal charges after this is all done. He has probably killed hundreds if not thousands alone by himself. The most mild-mannered of many of my Swedish friends (and when I say mild-mannered in a Swedish setting I mean MILD MANNERED, lol) are raging about this fuckstick.

From what I've been reading in the Norwegian press (I can read Norwegian, more or less, but Swedish confuses me), they've closed down everything - but Sweden has made it sort of optional. The Øresund bridge is apparently restricted only on the Danish side (you can't get into Denmark but apparently you can get into Sweden). It's bizarre that they'd consider closing down for the virus to be racist or cowardly. I hope you will be OK!

telecommuting for my consultant job. I was over in HK (Hong Kong) back in late November to mid-December and heard a lot about the 'new¨Sars' via on-the-ground sources via my firm. I had NO idea it would blow up this big, but based on our work over there, and a lot of our other consultants globally, my firm went to a hard short stance in mid January in regards to many of their positions, so they are doing quite well in the markets atm, especially the past several weeks.

My father (he is Swedish, but has lived in London for well over 2 decades on and off) has been a big proponent of a Nordic superstate (he likes the name Nordica) for ages (Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Åland Islands, Svalbard.) It would have combined the best of all our cultures and strengths, but Sweden's immigration policy has put paid any hopes for that, I am afraid, for now, and probably for good. That and Norway doesn't want to share their oil revenues! A damn shame as we would have had around 30 (WELL over that by the time it happened, probably 35 or so) million people, a HUGE GDP (for its size) insane combined natural resources and wealth, and a global powerhouse on almost every front and level, including quality of life and governance and wealth equality. We also would have had (perhaps) our own currency which would be partially backed by gold, silver and natural resources components, so only semi-fiat, and thus far less likely to be manipulated via FOREX shenanigans.

Whatever it is, it doesn’t look good in the big cities.

Two cases and one death in the Portland, Oregon area where I live. Two of my 3 kids live in the Seattle area, and I was up there two weeks ago. My daughter has health issues, and she is very scared. Her husband works in a care center with a large ventilator wing, and it is extremely stressful for him. My daughter is worried that he will get sick and bring it home to her. My husband and I are venturing out for groceries and other errands tomorrow; otherwise, we are staying home. My husband, my youngest son, and his 6-year-old son are all asthmatics. My middle child, a disabled Marine, has a new baby, his first child. I know he is worried about his health. My kids are calling me more often. I think everyone is feeling very vulnerable.

my zone is very large, and includes Charleston, SC, which is an hour and a half away. Also the zone has one reported infection, that is a staff member at the MUSC hospital in Chucktown who got it from Italy, and self-quarantined immediately upon getting back to the US, never went in to infect anyone else she would have worked with.

Don't get me wrong, I do absolutely feel that this will spread throughout the country, but at this point, the map seems a bit too alarmist.

And, of course, we have a lot of cases.

But we live in Kings Co. (Brooklyn), and according to that map, we don't have one confirmed case. Which is comforting, as the spread is less here than in Manhattan.

Also, it's untrue. I know of one confirmed Brooklyn cases. (Local to the Park Slope area.) A parent of a local public school tested positive, which led to a lot of parents in the neighborhood pressuring local principals to shut down even if the DOE didn't.

The DATA in this link as of 6:45 pm. Is anyone paying attention:

CONFIRMED CASES
6335
↑ 38% (+1736 past 24hr)
DEATHS
106
↑ 23% (+20 past 24hr)
RECOVERED
106
↑ 43% (+32 past 24hr)

Take that number times 30 days=52080

Or in 14 days = 26040

Or in 7 more days =13020

and that is only if the number remains as now.

Take 1736 x 0.15% =4340

x30 Days = 130,200

x 14 Days =65,100

x 7 Days = 32,550

Cannot do the projected deaths as that is too much.

We will be on a nationwide lockdown a week, week and one-half tops with major spread in metro areas across the U.S.
