Face Mask Pattern

I heard on RMS tonight that health care workers in some areas were running out of masks. There are many mask patterns on-line that crafty people can use to make masks. Here's one that's in English.

Finally, something that I can do to help while sitting at home!

I have tons of unused fabric, mostly cottons, that I could easily turn into masks. All I wou,d need is the elastic.

I can surely contact my local hospital here and discuss arrangements. I do not intend to make any money doing this. But if they are willing to pay, I will not turn it down.

I will show her this. She’s working from home and being potentially at risk is not leaving the house. Well, except to fish on the gulf! No virus 7 miles off the coast!

This was posted in another thread here on DU earlier today. Sorry, I don't have the link to that thread.

14. Interesting. 100% cotton tshirts and pillowcases are best since they're most breathable.

All the uniforms, sheets, and towels were 100% cotton so they could be boiled if no other sterilization method was available. The hospital where she worked used autoclaves to steam clean all the tools for surgery and use on the wards.

If my sewing machine and all my cloth weren't packed away, I'd be making masks but definitely would use 100% cotton for ease in cleaning.
