sometimes, it really sucks to know you were correct (sorry, can't use the term "right")

I am speaking for DU. And for democrats everywhere. We knew that election night 2016 was off - it reeked. For over 3 years, we know we've been on the correct side of issues - every issue, all issues.

We knew that trump would be a colossal failure. We were absolutely correct in understanding there was not an atom of presidential stature. Actually, in some ways, he is even worse than any of us could have imagined - mostly because of how he is worshiped by his cult and enabled by his sycophant party members.

We knew what was coming with COVID-19. We know the mistakes that were being made. We actually know better than the fawning, largely ineffective, chicken shit media that has been essentially letting him and his off the hook for over three years.

I am totally split in half right now - joyous in where my wife and I decided to move two months ago, joyous with my wife and cats and dogs and daughters, in raptures over the beautiful spring weather and watching all of the mysteries unfold in our new gardens.

But I am utterly pissed off and grumpy and have had it up to here and beyond with trump, with republicans, with assholes and idiots, with anti-vaxxers, anti-science types - with the softball media. We are seeing people die that shouldn't be, watching this thing grow out of control in ways that it didn't have to. We each get one shot at life - and dealing with two diseases - one a microscopic virus, the other a bloated pig of sub-human who should be locked up.

The straw that broke the camel's back for me tonight that unleashed this rant was the insider trading bullshit - people about to get ravaged by this disease, and politicians think of it as a way to line their pockets. Give me a fucking break.

I guess I've about had it.

Stay well, stay safe, be wise, all....that's a pretty good rant for tonight. The above explains my often grumpy, "fuck" filled recent posts. Enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

were in China in October, trump was right not to use “foreign” tests from WHO, and similar BS.

I’m hoping a few percent of those who voted for trump in 2016 will decide this is BS.

We must balance rightness with action.

Those without conscience must be retrained to face defensive force in the enforcement of a law and order society. Law and order and what's left of the Constitution will not defend themselves because we're in the right.

It is never capitalism that stabilizes society.
It is society that stabilizes capitalism.

These people you are angry about are at the root of all the austerity imposed upon we the people because they embezzle and hoard the wealth WE made, taxes that are OUR money.

Anger is genetically inherited. It is a gift. It must be focused and righteous.

And you are all that.

So be all that.

... what they WANT to believe. That means they’ll continue to fight back against facts or observations they dislike, whereas Democrats tend to accept them or espouse them even if they’re unpleasant. (You can’t solve a problem without identifying it.)

Existence of God and an after-life
America’s position in the world
Global warming

On and on. Since “everything is an opinion” (as I’ve heard them falsely claim many times), they will take the more pleasant choices.

Edit: I’ve met a few Democrats with the same “it’s all an opinion” mindset, but they’re still in the party for other reasons. It’s mostly the white Republicans who think that way, though, in my experience.

Good rant. Why that man has not been arrested for criminal neglect of millions of people is beyond me.

Why has there been no military coup?

I’m serious. What more does he have to do to show how criminally and wantonly negligent he is, being a direct cause of the clear and present danger to the lives of American citizens?

to the level of grumpy that I have been for the past three years. Still, great rant. I Rec'ced it. It is good to know I am not the only one who is frustrated with this death cult known as the Republican Party and their leader, that fucking horrid Trump.

I have been REALLY grumpy for most of the last three years. I'm surrounded by nothing but Trump worshipers down here in Richmond County. These are some of the stupidest people on the face of the planet. All of the jokes about Alabama and Mississippi pale in comparison to the real stupidity in this county in NC.

I don't want to ever hear another joke about those other states. NC is where the stupid is, specifically my home county. If NC ever wants to purge some stupid and level up its IQ and quality of life, get rid of Richmond County first. That's how much these fuckers have gotten on my last nerve, with their glazed over eyes and blind, stupid worship of Trump and the corrupt Republican Party.

The Republican Party is bad overall and there is a lot of stupidity to go around all over the place, but I live here. So, I cannot help but notice it more here.

The NC GOP is the worst of them all. All of the worst and most corrupt ones (and most hateful ones when it comes to women, gay people, children, anyone who isn't white and male and extremist Christian Identity movement and extremist right wing) come from NC, ya know. I can't help but see them pop up in the news for corrupt, horrible things they say and do, over and over again.

I wish people would wake up to just how many ties Trump has to NC Republicans too. When his admin is finally really investigated and finally gets some kind of honest assessment in the years to come, the ties to the NC GOP and how corrupt the NC GOP are in particular, are going to be obvious to everyone then.

Right now? No one seems to be noticing but me. Too bad. The right investigation into the NC GOP could bust that cabal of criminals up and end a lot of undue misery not just in NC but nationwide. The punishment for them here is less than a slap on the wrist though. It will have to come from higher up. Never forget "with surgical precision." I'm in one of the districts that was gerrymandered to ensure I will never have representation in the US Congress again.

Maybe one day they will be required to pay for the outright horrible things they are doing, but I have a feeling I will be dead by then. Obama tried to help, with healthcare that could have saved my life, but the GOP took away the Medicaid Expansion in this state. My life will be another statistic to add to the Republican kill count. Please someone make sure it is added and known when I am gone.

It's good to see someone else "gets" it about stupid people and the corrupt Republicans they love so much. There is a sliver of hope in the world if there is at least someone else in this state who get grumpy about it once in a while. I don't think the national Democratic Party realizes how frustrating it is for us in "red" states to be surrounded and outnumbered by these horrid Republicans who get away with outright breaking the law. They expect us to wave a magic wand and give them victory in the national elections. Throwing us a bone, just a little help, wouldn't kill them. Actually investigating the corruption of the NC GOP in Congress would be even better. What we are dealing with here is beyond anything a simple GOTV campaign can fix. I wish they understood, but they haven't listened to me yet or made the connection yet. Somehow the lines of communication are mixed up somehow.

Investigate the NC GOP is the point. If you want to bust up their hold on people and their hold on power and stop the corrupt crap they are doing, find some way to actually punish them and break them. That is what it is going to take. They will stop at nothing otherwise and they will continue to fuck things up for not only NC but for the whole country.

Thank you for joining me in being angry for a while. I know you'll probably go back to the stupor we have to stay in to function nowadays like most sane, logical people. Me? I'm like a dog with a bone and I can't stop being grumpy about it until Trump and all of his stupid* ass family are gone. *I didn't know New York could make them that stupid, I've always been told the south has a monopoly and a trademark on that kind of stupid. I guess people were wrong. The stupid can be cultured anywhere. And now, here we are.

I'm probably going to end up busting a blood vessel over this crap if something doesn't give soon. If an apocalypse happens from this Covid-19 thing, it'll be the Republicans that cause the end of civilization as we know it. Everyone should be as angry as I am right now, but not many really are, it seems. Not enough to stop the end of life as we know it caused by stupid Republicans. People joke they shouldn't even be allowed to be dog catcher here on DU, but it's worse than that. They shouldn't be allowed to graduate high school until they accept science. I was honor roll all the way and graduated with people who could not read. They had perfect attendance and graduated for that alone. I'm still miffed about that. I must have blood vessels made of Kevlar to no have already popped one by now.

Here where I live, we’re 60/% blue. But the 40% of ignorant fucking conservatives out shout all the sane people in this county. Their Trump worship is infuriating. Since Trump stole the election, my BP has been 10-15 points higher than it used to be. This fucker is going to kill me. Luckily, my state expanded Medicaid, so I’m covered for now. But the Republicans are in court right now to try and kill the ACA. Fuck Republicans and all their enablers.
