(1/) Five days ago I forecast that NYCs hospitals would be at capacity with #coronavirus cases by Mar 30. I was wrong. New data suggest that #NYCs hospitals will reach capacity of approx. 3,000 cases by Mar 24. #shutdownNYC

(11,885 posts)Every Governor , since trump refuses to do his job , needs to be lining up hotels near hospitals to use and have them set up ASAP,, and employ people now to start making PPE and equipment after being stiffed by trump for it. Every Governor needs to get busy getting temperature guns to be made in huge numbers for monitoring everyone, everywhere, now. I also see Republican Governors dragging their feet like trump is doing.

I can prove it, Jared & his bro with DJT & surely others, conspired to wait on testing for the C-19 virus so that they could profit from it?

(54,378 posts)I have a daughter there, and know for a fact that they also need beds for people that get sick from other things besides corona. The 3000 figure was just what they had thought they might need for corona cases. Kinda scary that that number turned out to be inadequate so quickly.

(1,737 posts)When I worked in critical care at a top hospital in FL we only had 22 ICU beds on two units. In bad times we'd use the ER as ICU overflow. Even in that case our most critical patients had to be on the unit (quick access to the staff and the essentials) while the less critical were triaged to the overflow beds and push to discharge patients. It is extremely stressful.
