...why are they worried about people on the roads? When they're in the car, nobody is contacted. Whether coming or going to things that are open.
Or, just the person taking a short ride to shed stir craziness. ( Like me). House, car, house is exposing nobody to anything.
I think they should have been more specific about the behaviors they're trying to prevent.
All that said, I liked what Lightfoot said. Saying they had to do this because "some people" just wouldn't listen to advice.

"Residents can still go to the grocery stores, put gas in their cars, take walks outside and make pharmacy runs, the governor said at a Friday afternoon news conference. All local roads, including the interstate highways and tollways, will remain open to traffic, as well."

It appears that the idea is that no one will have anywhere to go, so they won't go anywhere, unless they have to.

...cops directed to question people who are & "admonish". That's a quoted word.
If only certain places are open, and I'm in the car alone, going nowhere except for ride, cops are going to chase me home?
That's why I said they needed to be more specific about what is OK. Everything can't be considered a public health risk.
I admit it's personal. Going out in the country, driving slow, listening to satellite radio is part of my day & solace. The leisureliness, the relaxation and the solitude, 10 or 15 minutes, 3 or 4 times a day is really valuable to me.
