Why hasn't some group of people launched a coup against Trump

Last edited Fri Mar 20, 2020, 07:48 PM - Edit history (1)

and his administration? I’m serious. When does it become obvious that Trump is literally killing people out of neglect, indifference and disinterest?

How many of the largest cities, the major financial centers of the world have to come to a complete stop before someone says enough? The Trump administration needs to be thrown out and drastic emergency actions need to be implemented immediately!

He can’t even pretend to care! Why is anyone else pretending he cares when he just drags his feet and lies cavalierly without an ounce of interest on his part? He’s falling asleep with the boredom of attending meetings about this Pandemic!

I just don’t get it.

Edited to say that I should not have used the word coup. But my sentiment is still the same. Why hasn’t he been removed?

If we start down that road we will become another unstable banana republic. We have to get them out legally and try to repair our institutions and reputation.

High crimes and misdemeanors! Does withholding medical equipment Presidential directives ring a bell? He talks about a war footing but does nothing to order companies and businesses to convert to war mode in order to accelerate the manufacturing of supplies. He just tells the states to deal with it with a wave of his hand.

There are ways that this country have already moved in the past to do this. But it takes a fucking Presidential directive!

Put him in a hospital and have a team of appointed psychiatrists examine him. Ignore his personal doctor. He’s useless.

I’m using the word because I feel extremely frustrated. I can’t just sit back and ho hum over people dying needlessly. Perhaps for others it isn’t a big deal.

while we are installing a sane administration there is entirely too much room for mis steps and making it worse.

We get out the vote, we get rid of the son of b*tch the proper way. Then he might....maybe get charged with something and might get convicted...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

and start getting things done on day one.

Confusion would actually diminish considerably very quickly. Look at Governors who are already ten leagues ahead of Trump right now.

It would save us months of flat footed criminal negligence!

just force him to resign.

They aren't in enough pain. Yet. Just wait til their parents, grandparents and beloved friends start dying of COVID-9. They all privately know Trump is very complicit in their impending death.

Their = either their constituents or the Republicans in Congress.

Republicans talked about a coup during FDR's administration. They tried to recruit Smedley Butler to participate in it, but he refused because as much as we might hate a president. We do not forcibly remove them.

We need to use that energy to mobilize voters in November.

But we do have a Constitutional mandate. If Trump isn’t committing high crimes and misdemeanors then I don’t know what a crime is. BECAUSE of his lazy ass indifference people are dying. And they will continue to die. He could order wartime manufacturing of respirators, face masks, hospital tents, and anything needed.

Without GOP support, in both constitutionally available remedies, he will not be removed.

Impeachment requires the Senate to vote in approval.

The 25th amendment requires the Cabinet to vote him out.

You are absolutely correct that he should not be in office. He defiles the Constitution and threatens the safety of the nation but our paths toward removal are not viable at this time.

Can you please identify that part of the Constitution?

As far as “high crimes and misdemeanors” goes, that is the standard for impeachment. Impeachment requires the Senate to convict him.

Now, welcome back from the coma you’ve been in for a while, but the Senate actually has a chance to do that recently and voted not to.
