Spraying Bleach and Disinfectant at Night

Why are we not doing this?

I've seen video from China, South Korea, Italy and many other countries doing this nightly. They're all using large trucks spraying it at night and workers in protective gear spraying by day. If they're all doing this, there must be some benefit.

China was even using drones to spray.

Back when I was young, I remember the city alerting us to be indoors at a certain hour, as they'd be spraying for West Nile. They'd give us instructions on when to be inside and when it was safe to go out.

"The virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is stable for several hours to days in aerosols and on surfaces, according to a new study from National Institutes of Health, CDC, UCLA and Princeton University scientists in The New England Journal of Medicine."

Again, to cut down on this virus living so long on surfaces, why aren't we doing this?

There is no reason to believe that “spraying stuff” does anything other than generate video of people appearing to be doing something.

I believe that "spraying stuff" would certainly help.

We're already surpassing other countries in cases, why not try some of the things they've done? (esp. South Korea)

"Spraying stuff" for West Nile cut down on many illnesses here long ago.

It seems the US is far too late to the game here.

Read the other thread.

Doing something ineffective and possibly harmful is not a good idea.

This is a respiratory infection. You don’t want to spray shit in the air they harms people’s lungs.

If someone said “Why don’t we throw a virgin in the volcano to appease the gods?” I’d say that was a dumb idea too.

That does not mean I’m on “spring break”. We’ve been isolated from contact with other people for more than a week here. No, I don’t think sending teams of people through the streets to “spray stuff” is a good idea for a multitude of reasons - many of them discussed in the thread on this days ago.

There are a lot of things we should be doing. That does not make every idea a good one.

You want to spray toxic stuff in the air to compromise people’s respiratory systems during a respiratory disease epidemic. How about we all smoke cigars to see if that helps.

I literally got the last bottle of Odoban concentrate on Amazon.

That can make up to 32 gallons. Many people don't know Odoban is a damn good disinfectant

I just got some from Amazon. Arrives in a week.

That's a great idea to get pet-related stuff as a cleaner and disinfectant.
